I stayed here and it was fantastic! The host, Julie is very friendly and really helpful. The lodge is fully equipped for the stay - it’s home from home. There’s even a dishwasher! It’s really quiet, lovely and warm and it’s a really great location. The free wi-fi was a great bonus, making the stay even better! Everything was made up and you also get towels, within 5 mins of arriving you can be very settled and very comfortable. Julie had been more than helpful, yes the road is bumpy but when you arrive it’s absolutely fantastic. We were so lucky to have some late sunshine and looking out on the view of the estuary in the rear garden was so relaxing.... There was plenty of drinking water, we took pound coins as advised by the host only to find money already left in the meter. We also found some chocolates too 👍 excellent!! The dog was as happy as us, there’s plenty of throws to cover the sofa’s and it makes the stay really worthwhile. Yes, I really recommend it. Another of our family are already booked to stay it’s that pleasant. I would highly recommend and will be returning to stay again, thank you 👍

Lovely place to stay, it would be 5 stars but the condition of the steep road to get to it is really really bad. It's a very quiet and tranquil place to stay, beautiful views across the estuary and out to sea. The Fox's Lair has everything you need, like home away from home. It was clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights with our dog and we settled right in. We found it an ideal location to visit Bala, Barmouth, Borth beach, Fairbourne, Aberystwyth and of course Aberdovey. I'd highly recommend going on the cliff railway in Aberystwyth whilst you're there. The road put us off eating out at night, we didn't want to risk damaging the car going up and down it anymore than we had to. If the road was fixed I would go back again.
