As a family with two small children (1 and 3) we were extremely impressed with The Mulberry!

When we arrived, we were astounded at how lovely the place is. A little gem nestled in an expanse of fields, with only pheasants, geese, bunnies, deer and an un-imposing farmhouse as neighbours. The bottle of wine in the fridge, and the carrot cake left by our hosts was very well received!

The large, open plan living area has comfortable sofas, a large dining table and a well appointed kitchen. We were very impressed with the quality of the furniture and kitchen items. We were especially lucky to have been among the first visitors, and therefore everything was brand new.

The three bedrooms and hallway are lovely, well decorated, and with a very light an airy feel to them.

The master bedroom with an en-suite shower etc. has a king-sized, cast iron bed, with luxurious duvet and crispy, good quality sheets.
The other two bedrooms with a king-size and two singles are equally well dressed.
The family bathroom with bath is great for tiddlers.

The whole place is on one level which means the kids can roam freely and stay within earshot, comfortable in the knowledge that nothing much is out of bounds to them.
There is a decent high chair and travel cot for smaller ones, and the very lovely owners also provided some toys and chocolate eggs for the children.

The outside space is a lovely brick patio with table and chairs (with cushions), surrounded by a large grass area, enclosed by a post and bar fence, with new trees or bushes on all sides, and some netting, but not fully enclosed.

There are walking routes all around, and whilst we did not venture far, we immediately found beautiful countryside to explore.

The location of The Mulberry is great for days out. Close to home there is the local village of Bungay, which boasts a swimming pool and shops, well worth exploring.

Slightly further afield, we visited Beccles, Southwold, Africa Alive, Great Yarmouth (a jarring experience coming from the countryside) and enjoyed an extremely nice dinner at the Queens Head, in Blyford. We didn’t visit, but heard the Rumborough Buck in Rumborough is a great pub too.

All in all, this place is well worth a visit, and we really hope to come back again in the future!

We visited from Australia and found the place to be perfect for our family of fives needs. The Mulberry was spotlessly clean, tidy and well maintained. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are in this neck of the woods.
