Reluctant to put 1 star! Absolute joke! DO NOT BOOK!! We booked haul y bore as a last minute get away for peace quiet and a hot tub with a view. We called two days before arrival to book and were told that the house was £120 per night not £110 as advertised but we still found this reasonable considering the hot tub and swim spa so paid and booked. We read the reviews and figured people only ever go on to write complaints so we didn't pay much attention. Wow we have learnt the hard way. We rang as we set off on our 3 hour drive as instructed at mid day before we set off all was well and we confirmed the booking and were told to go to the four seasons Hotel to collect the keys. When we got there the man named Mr Davies who was in a dirty jumper with what looked like food all over him was completely unprofessional. He said there has been a problem with the booking I tried to call this morning to let you know, funny that because we rang at midday and all was well with booking and no mention of a problem at all. But don't worry we have a luxury 5 star apartment you can stay in. I let him go back and arrange this but we said we booked a quiet hot tub getaway not an apartment in the town. He assured us that it had a private hot tub so I heard him and another lady in the back office saying "we can put them there, we can shove them in there and we can change them to there" whilst pointing to the diary. We walked over to look at the apartments they were right on the front and yes they were modern inside but completely not what we asked for or booked. I asked where the hot tub was he pointed through the window at the carpark at a fenced off area at the end of it. So basically we were expected to walk across a carpark in swimwear for a relaxing hot tub with all the surrounding apartments and buildings looking over. They mays well have put the hot tub in a bin shed. I said Is this hot tub private he said yes. I said there are people staying in the other apartments though how is it private. He said yes there are people but they might not use it. Needless to say we left and requested a refund. We booked into the hotel across the road who said they are notorious for it. They own four properties here including the four seasons and we are always having people come to stay with us because the rooms are bad, they have not got what they booked or they have simply said we have no record of your booking and turned them away. They told us of a time a couple in their 80's had been turfed away and were in tears and stranded.
DO NOT BOOK HERE con artists this should not be allowed

AVOID!!
I booked this cottage for New Years eve for me and the mrs months in advance. We specifically chose the property due to it having a hot tub and I made sure to ask if it was operational etc when I booked to which they said yes it was working fine. There was no communication from the property in the lead up to the date, I had to ring them up the day before to ask where the keys were going to be and is it all in order etc etc, all seemed okay at that point. The property itself was a 3 hour drive away so we were just about to set off on our journey and we got a phone call saying that there was a leak in the property and that we were unable to stay there. Bear in mind this was just 2 hours before check in time and on New Years eve! I said that we didn't mind waiting an hour to set off to give them 4 hours to fix the issue but they were adamant that we couldn't stay there and offered us a hotel room instead to which we declined. If there was a leak at the property why wait until 2 hours before we were meant to check in to tell us and on New Years eve too. Really poor service throughout the whole process, would advise people to avoid and would advise them to get their act together as Ive now seen similar reviews.

Rang us 3 hours before we were due to check in to say we couldn't stay because water had got in??? We had driven 3 hours and they were really unhelpful in giving an adequate explanation, an apology or an alternative. It was a treat for my partners birthday who was left disappointed along with 2 upset children. I emailed my grievances to the owner explaining also that our relaxing weekend break turned into a rushed day trip. He changed his story by saying there was no running water. When I asked why he couldn't have tried to sort this at some point during the day, as we would have happily checked in later I got ignored. Terrible customer service!

It was alright the place wasn't show as in the booking, the water pressure definitely needs sorting out as couldn't have a bath as was just trickling out and the cooker door needs fixing as it just flips up so you have to hold it when its open.

We booked this property to stay at for a week - this coming Saturday 29 Aug - 5th Sept.
We got all the confirmations through, but two days ago we got a call from the booking company to say "the property is unavailable due to a water problem".
We phoned the number we had been given for the Four Seasons Hotel - and got who I assume was the owner, who asked "Which company did you book through?"
He then said "I have cancelled that booking" - and was very unapologetic.
Yet today the property is being advertised on Booking.Com for considerably more money per night that we'd paid.
Doesn't take a genius to work out what has happened.
After reading all the other reviews, I think I would avoid this place. 3rd attempt to book a holiday this year - and 3rd cancellation. Roll on 2021!

We booked a three bedroom house with one bathroom, and arrived to find that this has now been demolished and replaced with a brand new four bedroom house with four bathrooms (2 en suite). Facilities were excellent (pool table, hot tub, two sitting rooms, one of which had an incredibly comfy suite, dining room, spacious kitchen) and the village of Llanilar, while small, was delightful and includes a welcoming pub and a small but well-stocked shop.

The area is perfect for running and walking, particularly if you enjoy hills, and there is a footpath/cycle trail along the Ystwyth river, which can be accessed about 0.5km from the house; this can be followed to reach Aberystwyth in one direction or Tregaron in the other.

Unfortunately, many local attractions were closed or limited when we visited, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we still found enough to do to keep the whole family entertained for a fortnight.

We found the owner to be pleasant and friendly, and he kept in touch to check that everything was OK for us. We would definitely be happy to visit again.
