Spur of the moment booking, was just up the road.
Checking in was easy, Maria met us and showed us the lodge, it was really clean and nicely furnished not too much to take away from the wood cabin feel.
Hot rub was nice and warm.
The bed was really comfy and bathroom was clean and tidy. Shower was good pressure and nice and hot.
Maria was the only staff we met and she was helpful and polite, had a fee good chats. Credit to the site. Will def stay there again

Great place. Peaceful. Close enough to walk into the village for shops, pubs and food etc. This is our second time here. Maria and everyone who works here are friendly and helpful.

The lodge itself was beautiful and that alone deserves the stars given but the holiday was almost impossible to enjoy due to the expectancy of guests, given the price of the holiday I would expect basic cleaning like stripping of bedding to be done by staff after departure without charges of £10 per bed (more charges are added if there is under occupancy per bed)
The rules imply noise restrictions, there is no music allowed outside, including day time yet I was expected to listen to constant hammering due to work being done to the lodge next door. On arrival the kettle didn't work and the boiler wasn't on so we couldn't work the heating, I feel these are basic things that should be checked before check in. We messaged Maria to come take a look and I was greeted with a very unprofessional approach because my father was here dropping off a few more of my things (which I told her was gonna happen) but was told with an attitude we are not allowed guests on site because of the insurance. The lodge was booked for 4 and there were 4 of us in there when she arrived with that attitude! Further on into the evening we noticed one of the tv's wasn't working in the bedroom, and the bedding was covered in long blonde hairs (we are all brunette) as you can imagine I felt uneasy calling anyone at this point to come check due to the attitude I had on the previous visit. Saturday evening my partner was approached being questioned how many guests were in the lodge for fire safety which i completely understand but clearly wasn't sorted as Come sunday i got an UNEXPECTED visit from maria poking her head through my door, asking again how many guests are here, told them it was 2 adults and one child (because my sister had to go home) just to be told no swapping was allowed. I will add my cabin is booked for 3 adults and one child, me and my sister came down on the friday and my daughter and partner came down on saturday morning, there was no swapping it was the guests that were booked in. I tried messaging Maria directly to let her know she had made me uncomfortable with the unprofessional approach of things but she clearly took it as criticism and disregarded the whole situation giving me an email to make a complaint, (all i expected was an apology, "sorry you feel that way" is not an apology) All in all I can safely say I will not be returning, everything aside with the issues itself it was the attitude of the staff that ruined it

We stayed here 3/10/21. I'm going to just come straight out and say it was perfect. It was a little honeymoon for us. Lodge 10, was spotless.. The hot tub was lush. The weather was atrocious, but the hot tub was undercover, which was fab. So peaceful. Would love to bring our 2 young children here in the summer. We booked last minute and we were so lucky to get in as this place is super popular. Maria is so lovely, we had a bit of fuss made as it was our honeymoon... Balloons, bunting, chocolate and some fizz and a card. How nice is that. You could be anywhere in the world.

Small and peaceful site. Highly recommended for couples or small families with children who are happy to entertain themselves. Slightly away from the usual tourist areas but has a small town with some cafés etc within a 10 minute walk. 14 lodges in total, all private and the hot tubs are secluded so nobody can see you. If you are lucky enough to get great weather like us then lodges 7 to 15 get the most amount of sunshine. We stayed in 14 (owl lodge) and had sunshine all day long. Lodges are clean and tidy and contain all the basic essentials (apart from a toaster which would be nice). The site promotes itself as a peaceful retreat and has a strict noise policy so if you are looking for anything remotely lively I would look elsewhere, if you want peace and quiet and to escape from it all then this could be the place for you. Please note we bought our 7 year old and he did enjoy it, made some friends etc it would just be more suited to couples.
Maria is lovely and helpful, happy to recommend trips out etc.

Visited between 1st November and 5th November. Perfect getaway. Lodges were clean, warm, and cosy. Hot tub was very hot, and it stayed hot! (Some hot tubs cool down fast in colder temperatures). If your undecided to visit I would say just book it. Perfect for a quiet getaway from it all.
