Walked in today , I asked the man at the till if he can help me with this type of glue I’m looking for , he said he dosent know , I asked again and he was extremely uninterested and said he still didn’t know what I was talking about , I was about to leave then he told me to go downstairs , I go down and there was only 1 staff member , I asked her if she could help me , but she said she’s busy and to look for someone else down stairs , I realize that there is no one else down so I ask her again, and she tells me to go to another Robert Dyas in Tottenham Court road, so I walk for an hour, to go and get the glue, I walk back home and check that they have the same exact glue in the Holborn store, I wasted 1 hour of my life walking just because you’re staff in this branch are so lazy , the staff in Tottenham court road actually helped me and were interested in finding the right glue for me
Robert dye has always been one of my favourite place to shop, and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, It has been an very unpleasant experience to shop in the Robert dye just few mins ago in Chancery Lane, the stuff called Mr Dan has very extremely rude and cold to the customers seems like all the customers in the shop is his enemy, and here is the story.
I went to shop this morning with my assistant to purchase some office use stuff and when we were waiting on the counter an elderly lady came asking for instruction of the weight she purchased from this shop. And I thought it might took some times for the stuff to figure out how it works, therefore I asked whether I could give her an hand as there is other customers queue. when I checked the battery in fact she hasn’t remove the plastic which was the reason the clock didnt work. And I went downstair asking the stuff Dan whether he could borrow an screwdriver so I could open the battery box. But his answer is extremely cold and unpleasant saying:’ no we don’t have any screwdriver’. this made me feel that he is very dishonest as Robert dye is selling these things.
Therefore I saw the screwdriver just hanging next to the counter. So I took the screwdriver and try to use that for removing one screw in the battery cover. To be honest now I think about this I committed that I shall ask before use it. This is a lesson for me and I m grateful that I have learned my lesson.
And immeditelly Mr Dan came to me saying that ‘ sorry you are not allow to use the screwdriver’ and I said’ its only one screw’ and he replied’ no you have to pay it before using the screwdriver’. Fine, I m still can afford one screwdriver, and I said ‘ that’s absolutely fine, I can pay for this screwdriver, now can I use it ? ‘ and he replied aggressively ’ but you have to pay it now.’ ‘ besides, this is private property, I can refuse to serve you, ok ! Now I ask you to leave.’ Well, I told him,’ that’s fine, I can leave, but can I pay it now?’ He said’ ok, now pay’. so he remove the ‘ out of service’ sign. To be honest from all my life this was the second time that I experienced such an cold unprofessional service from a stuff. How much hate he would have within him? And the lady felt very sorry about me and saying’ you don’t have to pay for that’ don’t worry, I will sort it out when I am back home’
What an experience, I felt that Mr Dan is definitely not qualified to be a front desk staff, and he is completely misrepresent Robet Dye, I would really need his apology with such an unprofessional behaviour. A man full of hate is definitely not suitable for the customer service related job.
God bless him.
Best wishes
