Dunelm

We visited on Saturday afternoon around 3.45pm. There were 4 customers in front of us waiting to be served, the woman serving was chatting to someone in the kitchen area.
When the customer at the till was served, he was rudely told, No they stopped serving that. He bought himself and his wife a coffee, while she was busily clearing them a table to sit at!
When we were served, there was no mention of a thank you, just what table number and a huff.
People continued to come in after us had to wait longer, while the cashier put cutlery away and chatted to other staff.
Our food finally arrived by an expressionless young woman who threw it on the table and walked off without a word.
People, were clearing their own tables using wetwipes and staff totally disinterested.

I’m happy with the stuff I brought but what I found disturbing is when I first walked into the store. A group of 2-3 girls who work there staring at me until I got down the isle. I got what I wanted and had to walk back past to the tills. They were still stood there talking….

Went to cafe today, most tables dirty and no one cleaning them. If it's self clean, make it obvious. Not impressed, I guess covid is over. The person bringing out food, only once took a dirty tray in to kitchen. I had to wipe the table down myself, as covered in bits. Used crockery everywhere. One lady needed to leave the area, so another person was brought in, in his green uniform and no hair net used. Helpful but not a professional image.

Update. Reduced to 1 star as I received an auto response email to my complaint asking me to take further actions, surely they should be trying to sort for me and read my initial message. As I suspect they wanted and most people will do, I simply can't be bothered......Decorating a room so this is a good place to look for fluffy things to make it look homely. Like most places at the moment there are shortages of stock on shelves. However, can view in store and order what sizes you want through them online. Unfortunately, just received one of the 3 things ordered and the curtains have a burn through the front and back. It's unlikely to be, but looks like a cigarette burn. Have had to repair as we need them and have given feedback online.

Love the great product from this store. Half price silk pillow cases. Can never find a staff member though.

Lots of variety at acceptable prices. Very pleasant helpful staff. Not particularly busy. Cafe and toilets upstairs.

The cafe at dunelm on Friday offered the worst environment, and served badly made coffee.
The milk was boiled unroll it burst out and overflowed the jug. I watched a coffee being made and immediately cancelled my order. I was pressured to reorder the coffee. I was told that was a cappuccino not a latte. My coffee was boiled too, badly Burt milk, no texture.
The area was dirty and all the tables had dirty plates on them.
The staff are untrained and poorly motivated. I don't blame them, they need help and training in all aspects of their roles.
So frustrated that I did not complete the purchases from the main shop and left.
What a shame

Don't want to cause a shop problems, especially with the economy how it is. But this place is so over priced it's a joke. Have a visit, see the things you like, take a photograph and then do a Google search for the same thing. You'll find it much cheaper online. Sorry Dunelm.
