I was really worried about having a baby in hospital after two home births but the staff were all amazing especially the student midwife Helen and midwifes Jessie and Rebecca and all the support workers and doctors couldn't thank them enough they all went above and beyond. Thank you so much for treating me kindly and for bringing my baby into this world safely I couldn't have done it without you! You're all amazing x

Honestly while I was in labour they couldn't do enough for me and my partner. But the aftercare, apart from a few lovely midwifes , has kinda traumatised me. Even when I was rushed in for emergency C-section all surgens ect amazing but on ward after was beyond horrible. Nurses were so rude to point where I was in tears due to them not communicating at all with me about my son . One nurse even saw fit to pick up my sons toy in his crib and throw it down twice. Also lack of communication between nurses and midwifes is horrendous. Was told by midwifes constantly not to put a hat on my son as he was fine without one. But every nurse no matter my protest kept putting it back on him. Overall aftercare really has traumatised me and Honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Awful! Wouldnt let me hold my baby for a week. Told me I would lose my room after being there a whole month and I was wanting to go home and grab fresh clothes. They told me they wouldn’t update me on my baby in NICU if I wouldn’t go upstairs and take my paracetamols. Slagged me off to other midwifes wondering if I was a devil worshipper for wearing a marilyn manson t shirt… thinking I couldn’t hear. Didnt ask me if I was ok when I was crying for not being able to hold my son. Told me off for stroking my son’s foot telling me ‘he wouldnt like it’. I also Had an awful miserable old hag when I had my csection, ruined the experience. The kidney doctor who helped me through pregnancy was amazing though. Disgusting place. Donny was amazing place though please take a leaf out of their book.

I've just got home after a 3 week stay at Jessops with my daughter who was born 6 weeks early. To say the care we recieved there was exceptional is frankly an understatement. I really felt the staff at Jessops went above and beyond when looking after us and I couldn't be more grateful (especially the TC team who are just the best!).
I was nervous about giving birth here after the CQC report but I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Jessops after my experience.

Only maternity ward where the staff and security allow smoking outside every door.
Saying that the midwives and staff are really good and helpful. They are under staffed and lack timings (especially post labour prescribing doctors -4 hour wait, and 6 hour wait to be discharged)

If i could give this 0 stars i would! This has to be THE worst hospital in Yorkshire!! I had 2 babies here in 2015 & 2018 and received fantastic care. However, I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant, booked in for an induction due to multiple health issues with myself & my baby, and the care i have received has been horrendous! They delayed my induction due to being backlogged, then didn't return any of my calls. I finally got a bed and was given hormones to start my labour off, then after 4hrs of agony with no pain relief, they stopped my labour due to the baby being in distress. Kept me on a ward for 2 days, monitoring me every 2hrs due to complications, to then suddenly sending me home the following morning because there is a 2-3 day wait for a bed on delivery suite. Staff were rude and didn't follow up on any requests. The medication i take regularly wasn't sorted until i was leaving. By which time, I had already sorted it myself to be dispensed by my local pharmacy. No care or concern for my other children at home, whom both have ASD. Im dreading going back to actually have my baby when and if they decide to call me!! If i could change hospitals, i would!!

Not the best experience as a dad watching 8 women in the space of 8 hours shoving their hands in my wife and then her catching sepsis because of them doing it.
She was told she was full dilated so started to push. Then two hours later they stopped because they realised she wasn’t fully dilated.
And then had to have an emergency c section because my son was stuck.
Some of the staff are amazing.
But that place shouldn’t be run like that. And it’s a matter of time till someone is seriously hurt or killed through negligence.

Booking women in for inductions then not having the capacity on Labour ward for them to deliver their babies. Been on Riverlin ward since Monday and it’s now Friday waiting for a bed on Labour ward as have several other women. Wards bursting at the seams, short staffed - women not getting monitored regularly and to top it off there is constant drilling from work men. Ask for an update on Labour ward and all we get told is ‘they are busy’ stop inducing women then! Night staff aren’t mindful women are trying to sleep and talk loudly in the corridor and shout each others names to get their attention, waking patients up. I had to ask for fresh bedding and change my sheets myself. Patient toilets left dirty/untidy with no toilet roll to use several times. Induced me on a Monday, made my cervix open when it was closed and made me dilate to 3cm to then let me walk out of the door as they were too busy on labour ward putting myself and my baby in a more dangerous position than we were before we went in. They say they’ll ring when there is availability on the labour ward to break my waters but now I’ve gone home guarantee we have forgotten about just like we were when we were admitted.
