Most disappointed with the service received. Everything requires chasing them,. The call service is useless as they never return your call. The commitments made are usually false and promises on the progress of your case is never followed up. Your calls go down a black hole. You can dies of colon cancer by they time they wake up and respond to your case. I waited 9 months for follow up after suffering from sever pains in my colon. I would give this service zero stars. They should be scraped and let NHS deal direct. 3 doctors in the family and they concur that MEDEFER is only set up as a barrier to delay providing services that we have paid for through out our working life.

Terrible service and a complete waste of time - near impossible to contact via telephone, their online questionnaire does not work so you can not complete it. Been waiting 6 weeks for them to send out the ‘welcome’ pack which contains details that I need. A complete joke as far as it goes in the provision of the contract they have to provide services for Cwm Taff Health Board.

Useless.

Asked me to do a blood test. NHS blood test clinic had no idea who Medefer were. Has to chase Medefer around for results only to be told they hadn't ordered the correct tests (I had to chase to find this out, they didn't bother telling me themselves).

Waited 2 months for a phone appointment for them to just ask me questions like 'are you allergic to anything?' and 'have you had an operation in the last 6 months?'. How do they not know the answers to these questions.

Complete scammers nicking money from the NHS.

I am writing this review on behalf of my friend who has significant mental health issues. I hope it will lead to change in practice.
A text arrived telling my friend to book a massive list of blood tests with his local hospital (18 miles away), message was confusing and ended with if we do not hear from you within 72 hours you will be recorded as DNA, but no contact number shared just an assumption that he could use the internet! The panic and stress for my friend was dreadful and as text was after 6pm also nothing he could do. Today he tried to book these blood tests except our hospital does not offer this service, he tried his local medical centre who as ever abstained from any responsibility as they have never heard of the company or have a contract with them. The effect this had on his mental health was pretty immediate. I found the website and rang the number, pressed the various numbers to get through to our area. Person who answered phone had crying baby in background which made it difficult to hear and didn’t appear to know that Dorset is a county not a city/town. Explained his situation and also that what they were demanding was not actually available and the panic they had caused in suggesting he would be removed from the waiting list if he did not comply. Apparently this will be passed onto management and a note was made to ensure he doesn’t get removed from the waiting list for tests that are already booked with the hospital anyway. I understand the need to get waiting lists down but this outsourced service does not work, would appear as with many systems to be city centric rather than having any knowledge of rural areas. Does not appear to have any of the structures or procedures in place to actually achieve the demanded blood tests, no adjustments for non internet users or people with disabilities. It is hard enough for someone with significant mental health issues to get care for physical issues let alone when confronted by faceless tick boxing profit making companies. I also note google reviews give 2 out of 5 stars but NHS gives 5? It felt as if this service was more about the business meeting it’s outcome to get paid than any improvement in the health outcome for a disabled person. If the NHS are to outsource in this way surely they should at least ensure it works for users? Copy of review I’ve posted to NHS reviews

I recently submitted an enquiry about clinician vacancy at Medefer. I was astounded to receive a response from their Chief of Recruitment to say that “unfortunately, we only take on Doctors for virtual hospital work” even though my enquiry clearly stated that I have an “MRCP” . It was alarming (and also insulting) to see the head recruiter for such a health firm seemingly not know or understand such medical postgraduate qualification and therefore discounting me as someone who is not a doctor.

Elderly friend of mine was cared for by Medefer at Isle of White. Very caring and efficient service. He would have waited a lot longer was it not for Medefer. Thank you and well done

Good efficient service. The doctor I spoke to was excellent in explaining my worries. I would highly recommend this service. I only had to wait less than 3 hour before I got the consultant doctor to review my case. Thank you thank you..I appreciate your hardowrk in this pandemic!

These people, they don’t care about clinical procedures ( objective tests) ,in order to make diagnosis which leads to nothing at best or miss diagnosis at worst.
