I was particularly indebted to Salome, the nurse who carried out my pre-operation assessment. She was very thorough and took great care to ensure that I knew what to expect. The literature she gave me was helpful but, in addition, she went through it with me and highlighted the crucial dates and important procedures. Thank you.
Anna clearly is trained to attend to my needs considering my sight impairment. She sight guided me to the radiology department, described our travel route all the way from their front reception through to the radiology front desk. Melissa who took over was just as helpful, very quickly cottoned on to my Arsenal top and made it a point of discussion helping to put me at ease. Dr Stanton, the radiologist came in, introduced himself and set to work also giving me information all the way. I finished off pleased with the knowledge i had not grown any more kidney stones. Now looking forward to my consultation with Dr Lynch in a few days. And finally thanks to Hanna who escorted me back downstairs from radiology back to the reception desk in perfect time for my taxi’s arrival to return me home and work resumption. Thanks again Shirley Oaks for a fantastic service.
Firstly my experience with the consultants, I have seen two who were knowledgeable but could have had better customer skills. I was in a lot of pain and the 10 min appointment I had with the consultant was short and I don't feel I was dealt a great deal of empathy, more like another number they wanted to get through the process. This was the case in the multiple consultations I had over the past year.
The physio team I was referred to were brilliant, they were 5 star and I couldn't speak more highly of them.
The accounts team were not great at all. Only one month after my treatment, they got very pushy and aggressive when my insurer was one week late paying the invoices.
Their ethics and in business process for collecting money isn't very good.
I received three very pushy phone calls telling me to pay now, which I felt was rude and aggressively assertive.
Trying to get in touch with the right team by phone is difficult. It's not what you would expect from a Private hospital.
The experience of using private health insurance and the private hospital is not the best. There is a disconnect with the process and the health insurer has no contact with the private hospital, or very little anyway. So often you will find that you will be sent on a wild goose chase trying to communicate between the two.
I have had some good parts of the experience, but overall it's not what you would expect from a private hospital.
