Dr Sweta Rai Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon

I have seen Dr Rai as a patient and referred patients as a colleague. I was impressed with how thoroughly she assessed me, how clearly she explained the diagnosis, the quality of her work as a surgeon and her brilliant aftercare information. This is the reason I refer patients to her: I have 100% faith that she will treat people with care and compassion whilst reaching the right diagnosis and give the best treatment options.

I was very impressed with Dr Rai’s professionalism and approach. I was her last appointment of the evening, yet she still gave me her full focus and energy, carefully explaining the various options for my treatment. A true professional - also with warmth and compassion!

I found Dr. Rai to be rather arrogant and often late for appointments. I also strongly believe she misdiagnosed me. That being said, the treatment for the condition I actually had was the same as the one she conjured up, hence the two stars.

I am a fully qualified specialist with specialist qualifications in Dermatologic Surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery and Cosmetic surgery from a foundation of Dermatology training after training in Internal Medicine. I aim to approach all my patients with a professional, empathetic and evidence based specialist approach. I try my best to treat patients on time however with a busy medical and surgical Dermatology practice I may not always succeed in this however I will succeed in diagnosing, treating and delivering the best patient care in a humanistic and scientific approach. Very poor service. Extremely dismissive of the patients opinion and questions. I was shood out of the door after 10 minutes

Dr Rai seemed to be knowledgeable on her field (I am no-one to judge) but her approach to the patient was appalling. She was polite in the conversation but the treatment plan was completely unrealistic (e.g. you cannot expect a working professional to be able to apply medical treatment to the whole body 4 times per day, when 10 hours per day he is in the office). Dismissed any questions from the patieny, didn't pay any attention to identify the root cause of the issue but just to treat the current flare-up symptoms and propose to follow up with NHS for systemic treatment and in the end rushed me out of the office as soon as possible because she was over booked, leaving many questions and concerns unanswered. Definitely not recommending her to anyone.

The consultation lasted 5 minutes. And I was literally shown the door. Dr. Sweta Rai might be a competent professional and was cordial and polite. However, the cost of treatment letter provided to me later says: "My estimated fee for your treatment will be £500 in addition to your insurance company payment." When I asked for what it was, i was informed for 'good quality service'.
Did not give me the confidence to go back.
