And nobody from the clinic called us! So instead my wife had to call them a few days ago to be told my son does have a fractured wrist and has been referred onto the fracture clinic at St Peter’s hospital who would be in contact with us during this week (to date they haven’t contacted us!)
I took my son to the Woking walk-in centre as I believed it would have been easier than taking him to the actual hospital and wouldn’t have to wait as long, how wrong I was! Having to make an 11 year old chid wait for over 5 hours and not being given any diagnosis as to the extent of my sons injury is totally unacceptable!
Now we have to wait for the fracture clinic at St Peter’s hospital to get in contact with us to have us bring him there to the hospital which if I had brought him there in the first place we would have saved all this hassle we are now having to face!
I won’t ever use the Woking walk-in centre ever again and won’t recommend anyone else goes there! use the hospital instead as you’d get far better care at any hospital then what you’d receive here!
Also until now nobody from the fracture clinic at St Peter’s Hospital has got into contact with us regarding them having to take a closer look at my sons wrist, my wife has called the fracture clinic at St Peter’s Hospital many times and left messages but still nothing and apparently the fracture client is only open 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday so how much longer will my son have to wait???
I didn’t experience any respect or compassion’ no appreciation for mental health at all. It’s all process and systems. A complete disgrace to the NHS.
I'm disabled and have never been there before, parking is not obvious when you don't know it, signage around charge's for disabled is not displayed that I could see so I had to ask inside about that.
Then we had to walk a considerable distance to get to the part we needed as there was no closer to park considering our situations, and then all the way back over 4 hours later, it was a serious challenge for us as my wife is my carer.
The waiting time was ridiculous, but considering all the challenges they are facing you can't blame them, and some of the things people were going in for highlights just how massive it's service is being hindered by many who really just need to use common sense, something very lacking by many these days, if you have a cough what would you do?
Go and join a 4 hour (or longer) queue to be told you have a cough, go and get some cough mixture, or go to the chemist you would be going to after and buy it to start with, 4 hours or 5 minutes, I wonder. 🤔
If you go in for a cough and sniffles then go to the chemist, let those who are more urgent get timely help, in our case it was a possible blood clot, turned out to be muscle related, but that needs to be checked, a cough a chemist can help with.
