Mum has just left Castle Ward after spending 6 weeks there. The care and attention she received was outstanding. Everyone is extremely helpful and have the time to talk to you (both face to face or by telephone) and explain how things are going. We were kept very well informed throughout the duration of her stay on the ward. A big thankyou to everyone on Castle Ward.

This has to be one of the worst places for care of patients. My elderly mother went in here after suffering a fall and unfortunately ended up in the Forest Ward. The level of care was non existent. My mother granted had a bit of dementia but there was no engagement with the patients and zero effort made in treatment or rehabilitation. There wasn’t even a tv or radio. My mother lost about 3 stone in weight and eventually came home emaciated and in no fit state to be at home. They just couldn’t wait to get rid of her. The staff couldn’t even manage to arrange appointments properly during Covid restrictions and I was sent away twice because they had messed up the times. My mother passed away shortly after leaving this dump.
All I can say is if your relatives are unlucky enough to end up here then get them out of the place as soon as possible if you care for them in any way, because the staff at Lings Bar certainly won’t.

Lingsbar hospital have poor, unprofessional and inadequate staff members, who like to intimidate and bully their patients, and when you go through the complaints procedure, they take weeks to give you an outcome and once they do contact you to inform you, you're then told (in other words) that it is you're word against theirs. Not enough is being done to protect our vulnerable people from consistant emotional abuse and neglect. I would strongly advise that you refrain from placing you're parent or any family member at lingsbar hospital. The way they have treated patients is absolutely appalling and they all work together to ensure that none of them have to face the consequences for their actions. If any of youre family members or parents are transferred to lingsbar, please make sure that you do everything in you're power to have them moved elsewhere for their own well-being and safety. My family member is still suffering from the consistent abuse caused by the staff here. They claim to support and assist you in rehabilitation but in actual fact you come out worse than you went in. I've even reported them to CQC. This hospital needs a thorough unannounced review and inspection for the health and well-being of all the patients admitted.

My mum has been in Lings bar hospital. Couldn't thank them enough, her care was very good on the Forest ward. The nurses and staff very friendly and helpful. Had good meals while there and plenty of interaction with the physio to get her walking again after a fall.

After meeting Claire on Saturday afternoon on the Castle Ward I can not express in words the reassurance she gave me. Her professionalism, approach and understanding was exceptional. I know my mum is in very capable and caring hands. Thank you to all on the Ward :-)
