Although the general care given at Bronllys was reasonable, insufficient Physiotherapy input resulted in her having a Contracture of her Left leg which is irreversible. Both of Mum's legs were straight when admitted to Bronllys. The Stroke had affected her Left leg and Left arm.
Also, we were unaware, at the time, that Bronllys Hospital was under threat of closure.
Subsequently, it was known that the Hospital did not in fact close.
Mum was said to have "plateaued" as regards any further improvement to her affected limbs-Left arm/Left leg. This was incorrect, because during her stay at a Care Home, she received Physiotherapy and was able to move her Left leg off the footstool a little, and she could hold a ball between her hands, and flex her left arm-also she had movement in her left hand fingers.
Mum required encouragement with her Physio-sometimes, she might say she didn't want Physio, due to being tired (after all, she is 91+ years)-but, subsequently, with that encouragement, she benefitted from further Physio. input.
We felt that, at the time, Mum had been "written-off" in relation to her Physiotherapy.
Yours,
Sincerely,
Christopher Lloyd.
Kept wheel spinning in the rain to get over the plastic speed bump at walking speed.
They need to be replaced by tarmac or something that has grip and isn’t so steep.
Stay safe ✌️❤️
