We hired the hostel our for sole use and had a great stay at Ty'n Cornel. The location is amazing, the hostel is cosy and tidy and the wardens were great people. Would recommend to walkers in the area and to groups like us looking for a quiet weekend away.

Great place with a friendly warden and in a very remote location. We camped for 2 nights and cycled the Doethie Valley.

No frills and no fuss as you'd expect but it is clean and tidy. Amazing location but don't expect to get down the drive in a low slung sports car! You'll be fine in a normal car at a steady pace. Great as a hiking or biking Basecamp.

Remote hostel in mid Wales. Great place to getaway. No phone reception nothing for miles in all directions except hills, sheep and streams.

A whole group of us stayed here twice for secluded weekends. It is utterly remote and nettled among sheep-filled hills along the Cambrian Way. The hostel itself is well facilitated with everything you can think of to cook for a large crowd. There are two rooms upstairs catering six bunks per room. There are two bathrooms downstairs for men and women and a single shower. It is the perfect getaway for walking or uninterrupted chilling with friends with an assortment of games, maps and historical literature. It is a proud and unfancy establishment which we have appreciated immensley. The walks in the surrounding area are interesting and invigorating but the road in is slightly treacherous. There is only one route in from the north (as the other end is closed) so be aware of Sat nav directions. A bit tricky to get to but definitely worth the effort!

After a 20 mile hike from Llandovery following the cambrian way I was refused a place to stop over, not even a place to camp, ok I didn't book in advance but it was 745pm and I fond myself further then I thought along the route.. I was sent away, the guy was extremely unwelcoming at first extremely rude, the way I was treated was shocking and to be sent away quiet late into the evening, even after explaining my circumstances, was darn rite dangerous tbh. But it is what it is clearly my face didn't fit.
God sees everything. Just saying.
