Travelodge Basingstoke

Upon arrival Richard was so welcoming 🙏, friendly & so chatty.
The room was perfect.
Richard told me where to get something to eat & even ran down the corridor to hand me a plate,fork & knife.
He really needs a gold star.
Keep the good work.

Smelt a bit musty, but the room was spotless. Staff at check in were friendly. Our room was very hot when we arrived, was able to switch heater off and open the windows a bit.

There's a vending machine in the lobby for drinks, crisps and chocolate. Coffee and tea in the room.
I would have liked to have been able to book a twin room as opposed to a double but couldn't work out how to on the Web site. Was ok for just 1 night

The location is quiet and away from the main road, the staff were lovely and the rooms were tidy and well presented. I cannot fault them at all, overall we had a nice few nights spent and were warmly welcomed back each evening.

Lovely young man on the desk in the evening. Very friendly and helpful. Lodge is clean. Comfy bed good shower. Very convenient location to break up a long journey.

No real comment on the service as like with most hotels COVID means you have to specifically request it. The issue I had was price, I booked 4 nights with a dog (20 flat rate for a pet) and the Thursday cost in excess of 100, so obviously I presumed it was busy or there was an event running nearby (I get supply and demand) I expected to struggle parking when I returned Thursday evening, but no the car park was pretty much how it had been all week cars, work vans and empty space's.

Needs an update. Traffic noise despite double glazing. Harvester next door doesn't open for breakfast till 09:00

Always stay here when busting family. Comfirtable/clean and do Central to everywhere. Also a great Beefeater next door.

Very convenient location. Whoever was at the desk in the late afternoon/evening on Wednesday was very welcoming and kind. Bed was comfy and room was quite clean although the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. :)
