Extremely clean, tidy decoration, staff a credit to the owners and food/portions very good.
Bedroom exceptionally clean and comfortable
Staff all very welcoming
Spa session was great.
Only suggestion would be to make a 'divider' between the bar and reception area
Would definitely stay here again

The George Albert hosted our Wedding last weekend and we would just like to say thank you and to say how great it was from start to finish.

The venue is great for all types of events with multiple function rooms with sliding walls for all occasions. Air conditioned function rooms all with stylish modern interior and two bars with plenty of free parking available.

The rooms were modern, spacious and finished to a high standard. All of our guests were extremely happy.

The food was of a very high standard and the ceremony was just perfect.

Anyone considering getting married should definitely shortlist The George Albert! They went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect, nothing was too much trouble.

This has always been a great place to visit, stay and grab a lovely meal. I attended a private Party here recently that was a great night however when asked when I could book an evening meal here they said that this service would be ready in the near future when they can recruit more kitchen staff.
I for one hope this happens soon as this was always a special place to have a lovely meal.

We stay at the George Albert Hotel as it is convenient for Clay Pigeon Raceway for race weekends. We have stayed at the hotel for the last year, through the covid period, so my review is based on the hotel running at a minimal level of service during that time.

The hotel is comfortable, clean and well-maintained inside. The outside and car park are a little tired and run down, I suspect this is because they have been trying to save money during Covid.

There is a restaurant and bar, which seem to be opening up again now, although there is a small selection of drinks. Breakfast is ok, although not stunning, again, I suspect this will improve when they open up more fully. We've not eaten in the restaurant.

I haven't found a gym, but there is a spa which has been closed during the period we have stayed there.

Location is excellent for our purposes, but it is about 20 minutes from Yeoville and Dorchester, so it will depend on the reason you are staying there.

Just a hopeless experience from start to finish. Almost impossible to book a room in advance - dates given for advance booking constantly pushed back. The stay itself was average at best. The hotel appears to exist without communications; a simple room alteration took more than 40 attempted phone calls before anyone answered and even then, the the alteration wasn't made, by which time I'd given up the will to live to even bother complaining. Emails went unanswered.

If I hadn't been forced to stay here because of a wedding, this is literally the last hotel that I'd ever part with money to stay at. They just don't deserve the room fee.

I made a group booking of rooms for my recent wedding that took place nearby. Rebecca and the team were really helpful in co-ordinating the rooms and looking after our guests during our stay - they even opened the kitchen especially for us so we could have lunch on arrival. Everyone enjoyed their stay and commented on how comfortable the rooms are. Great hotel.

First impressions were a tired looking building, awful net curtains on the windows, overgrown and untidy garden boxes, the glass roof over outdoor reception area is dirty and needs a good clean. Those impressions alone would question why anyone would want a wedding there? Then walking into reception we enquired about having a coffee, something we had had in the past. We were bluntly told no coffee available, try the cafe next door. Hardly a warm welcome and quite disappointing.
The GA could do with major updating. I get there's been a lot of changes regarding Covid but surely they should be encouraging customers in not putting them off!
