Tremendously underrated hotel, from the moment I walked through the door the owner/manager couldn’t have been more helpful. The rooms are absolutely spotless with plenty of space, modern but still traditional and exceptionally comfortable. A well stocked bar with plenty of choice, spacious comfy dining area and a nice outside seating area. So much thought and time has gone into this place with an owner passionate to achieve perfection. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference like making a packed breakfast for me as I was leaving early the following morning, a lovely gesture to finish off a wonderful stay. I look forward to returning and thank you for your hospitality.

The staff are lovely, very friendly and professional always willing to help and accommodate. They went out of their way to make our large family who invaded the hotel for 4 days for a very special wedding.
Rooms where lovely and beds very comfortable. It was clean and spacious.
Food was excellent and well prepared and presented.
Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Today was one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. Booked a wake for 20 people and my Mother had to lay the table herself hours after burying her own mother because this company were not ready for the booking that was made in advance. Manager also lied about the reason for not being ready. The waitress was very sweet and helpful and did everything she could but the management has really let themselves and this place down.
Easy to say I will avoid this place at all costs in future.

Dill & Sandra are just wonderful. So accommodating and super friendly - nothing was too much trouble. And we’re fussy! The hotel is situated in a perfect place where we can walk our dog to the harbour and back to such a welcome. Now sitting in a their bar enjoying a great selection of wine and beer whilst puppy is enjoying a snooze. Cannot recommend enough - you’ll not be disappointed…

Our Christmas lunch was absolutely wonderful here today. Food was delicious, atmosphere friendly and the staff were so kind and attentive. My little girl especially liked meeting Santa. Lovely added extra. Thank you Wards for working so hard to make our day a special one.

Went here for works Xmas meal and the food was awful...overcooked really tough beef. I couldn't even cut the Brussels sprouts as they were so hard. The potatoes and parsnips looked like they either hadn't been roasted enough or were burnt and the Yorkshire puddings were hard and tough. My daughter then went a week later for her work Xmas meal and she said it was just as awful....definitely would not recommend for large parties as they clearly can't cater for so many people...they send you up in stages to get the meals however this means that quite late into the evening (approx 10pm) people are still eating. Will not be going back here for the Xmas meal again.

Stayed one night after getting off the ferry. Off street parking. Older property with comfortable rooms. We had a large double with a four poster bed and plenty of space. Service was very helpful, when we ordered a takeaway, the manager brought plates and cutlery to the room. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. Definitely on my list for a pre/post ferry/tunnel stay.
