Britannia Inn Hotel

Not very guest friendly.

Good:
- Amenities such as fridge, microwave, kettle, teas and coffees, TV
- Inside of fridge clean
- Inexpensive compared to average London rates
- Free breakfast of good quality 👍

Bad:
- Shower runs cold and is broken
- Inside of microwave very tatty
- Inconsistent cleaning job
- Wi-fi does not work at all and 4G connection extremely bad
- Negative experience with the receptionist staff upon arrival

Ugly:
- Room in a terrible state. Food(?) stains on ceilings, walls, light switch!!!
- Dirty handles
- Thick build-up of black mould around rim of shower from inconsistent cleansing
- Cobwebs!!
- Duvets and mattresses need to be replaced or better hidden

I was prepared for wear and tear, but still expected a clean room and functioning shower! But I did not manage to get a single shower during my time spent here, and was very unsettled and underwhelmed.

The thought of touching handles or opening the fridge/microwave door or turning the light switch on with my bare hands made me feel uncomfortable, because I didn't know what they had cleaned and what they had not.

I would have preffered a clean and functional en-suite room with no amenities to what I was provided with. The least a hotel should be doing is cleaning room surfaces down thoroughly after each use!

If the hotel staff kept room maintenance to half the standard the kitchen staff kept breakfast service, this would definitely be at least a "3 star hotel". But the receptionists, cleaners and managers are definitely letting their kitchen staff down, as the state of the rooms makes you sceptical about the quality of the breakfast.

What I was expecting:
Clean, guest friendly double room with ~functional shower and wifi~

What I got:
Slapdash cleaning job, double bed in a single room and NO Internet connection 👎

The most disgusting hotel I ever been 🤮🤮🤮 plus hot water doesn’t function in shower room and really bad smell in the room a. I mean … I don’t recommend to anyone book in this hotel .

The place is nice and convenient but some staffs aren’t.

The Male Manager (I think his name is Wassim) - not friendly and not welcoming at all, not approachable and doesn’t know customer service - 1 🌟 Star.

The Black Girl - unfriendly and unwelcoming guest - 1 🌟 Star

Kitchen Staff (2 Women) - 5 🌟 always smile early morning serving breakfast at 6:30am and greeting customers.

The European Guy - 5 🌟 very friendly, always smile, friend, helpful with any queries and does know a proper customer service.

Bilal (Asian Guy) - 5 🌟 very friendly, very helpful and very easy to talk to. He is the only reason that’s why I stay on this place.

Me and my family reached at hotel on 11 June on 10.30 pm night at on time staff no good response no any help us. My baby is only 2 year but staff tell to me I can't help.u .I tell him to arrange some food or milk for my child but he say I can't help u .u go to market and arrange.but I go to London first time so don't know about London Owen available but Bowl not available kattle is not good WiFi is signal week in room but specially staff available on Saturday and Sunday not good he always tell to me I can't help you so i feel very bad on that's time' I help less that' time

We got placed here as the hotel we had booked had no spaces so they transferred us here... It was quite unhygienic (the stairs looked like they'd not seen a hoover in months) and dated. We awoke to a horrible strong fried smell which lasted hours from about 6am till about 8.30am. we actually left the hotel early by one night as we could not stand the idea of smelling this monstrous smell for a second morning. It wouldn't have been a choice to book this place.

Not satisfied, old carpet broken beds .from house to converted in hotel but it's not.

Bilal receptionist very helpful and understanding of the situation especially during a late notice at 1:30am on a Sunday early hours of the Morning he sorted out a room for all 3 of us urgently with a great price and was very kind and respectful when arrived.

Excellent hotel. You don’t really need much. Good price and free English buffet breakfast. What more could you ask for. I saw the reviews but I wanted to see it for myself and honestly it was fine. It’s a little out dated but it’s reasonable for the price staff are always helpful and available as I had some issues with my room key. Overall definitely will be back.
