I was really disappointed with the rooms and the smell of smoke and general cleanliness.
I visited the hotel as a very close friend was due to be married there that day, but unfortunately he passed away.
Really not happy with amount of money spent with the hotel and not really up to par with the sell of the facilities.
There were several staff members that were extremely helpful and several who really didn't seem to care.. to those who made the effort I thank them.
Having worked in the industry I fully appreciate that the market is working hard to claw back, however the hotel really needs manage customer expectations alot better.
At this point I would not recommend a stay at the hotel as it was extremely expensive for very little.

The grounds are lovely and the venue is beautiful. The staff were helpful for the corporate event that we hosted here. The food was good and served on time. The event went off without a hitch. I would recommend this venue for corporate events.

Working a couple of days a week in the area meant I needed to find a hotel to overnight at . After having tried a handful, mostly the usual suspects, I settled on Stoke Place.
Lot of character in the building and a lovely setting. At some point I'll have to go for a wander around the grounds.
On my earlier stays, there was a bowl of apples at reception - with a note explaining they were from their own trees and to help yourself. Things like this are a nice touch.
Rooms can be a little 'quirky' but all the better for it in my view - you know you aren't staying at a sterile hotel chain. By this I mean creaky floorboards type of thing - it's an 18th century building, it's allowed. Can be a little more embarrassing if its noisy plumbing and you need to get up during the night.
Beds are excellent and comfy.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is delight - they've won me over to black pudding, no fried to a crisp thin slice here...soft, hot and a good flavour. View out of the Breakfast room is a fine start to the day too!
I cant really comment on evening meals as have only eaten once, in the bar.

Wonderful hotel that is just very elegant and comfortable. The staff are wonderful and make you feel outstandingly welcome. The food from the restaurant is beautifully presented and prepared. We were there for 2 nights in one of the Gatehouse lodges which are lovely. Just a very lovely place for a weekend away. I suspect we will be back.

Beautiful historic hotel. Room was fantastic (Queen Anne suite). A great size and layout. Very clean and tidy with beautiful period features throughout. Decorated nicely for Christmas with many trees and decor around the hotel. Service from front desk and breakfast staff was perfect. Unfortunately dinner service lost this review a star. The food was absolutely impeccable, the service let it down however as the young gentleman seemed rushed off his feet which caused a few issues. Not his fault I will say, but he should have been supported by the restaurant manager (or sommelier?) Who seemed to be offering great service to a couple of tables, and none to the rest of the restaurant which we found disappointing. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be revisiting soon.

The place is beautiful, has a charm and beautiful woodlands around. Beautifully decorated with Christmas tree at this time of the year. The food was good, the stuff was helpful and nice. Love the place is dog friendly and so close to Windsor.

However... Unfortunately, the bed in our room was uncomfortable, and because of that I had back pain and couldn't sleep most of the night. The mattress was just too hard and no bouncy at all. Pillows were great to rest head.
When I finally fall asleep I was woken up after 5 am by other two guest who had a room next to us. They were clearly drunk and swear a lot till almost 8 am. In result, we headed home more tired than on arrival.

We had a pleasant two-night stay recently. The staff/service was good throughout. Small items of maintenance in the room would have helped - there were no plugs in the washbasins, there was no toilet brush and the shower could only be aimed at the wall. Food was pleasant and reasonable value with the inclusive DBB rate although the full price would have been expensive for what it was.

A fabulous stay in the regency suite. Yes there is some room for improvement e.g the shower/toilet could do with a refurb. It is however an old country house and therefore something to consider. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner menu varied and delicious. All staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A particular thanks to Mark and Paul who provided exceptional hospitality as did the reception staff. A great location for Windsor and overall a lovely weekend.
