Brilliant hotel - we loved everything about it!
Superb room (we were given our request) with fantastic views.
Beautiful building and grounds/gardens.
All staff really helpful and friendly.
Dinner excellent.
Breakfast choice and quality outstanding.
Little extras for our anniversary really made us feel special.

On a motorcycle with my wife. Hotel parking felt like a safe place to leave the bike unattended. Great kerb appeal. Grounds beautiful. We had a 'classic' room. This was adequate. It had a large bathroom that was clean & tidy. The room was quiet Restaurant a little expensive so we had a bar menu. We chose to eat it outside. It was lovely. Surprisingly limited availability of drinks at the bar. Has a walk around the grounds - very pleasant.

Breakfast excellent. Faultless.

Spa area - Jacuzzi broken (hotel apologised) everything else fine. We would stay again

I booked this hotel for an overnight stay for my mum and stepdad to celebrate a birthday and they couldn’t fault the stay. The hotel rang prior to them arriving to check if there was any requirements and knowing it was for a birthday, they left a balloon and a bag of goodies on arrival and made the stay extra special. The swimming pool and steam room was an added bonus. The room was excellent and the food was even better. Definitely recommend adding the breakfast as this was a highlight of the stay. The grounds are stunning and the staff went above and beyond to make sure they had a great stay. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, great interior, not the greatest choice on the menu...but sufficient.
Over priced food & beverage right across the menu...
Food - good but not to the level of the cost...
Unhealthy smell in the Gents down stairs ...looked thoroughly clean; it smelt the same on my last visit a couple of years ago...perhaps its stale air due to there not being a window....?
Grounds appear to be informal but very well maintained.
Guest's well behaved dogs would enjoy exercising there .

Whilst getting to the hotel come be a bit of a trek in the dark and if you're not that familiar with smaller roads you had better arrive in the day. Arriving at the place was really nice. From the moment you step through the door the service and staff are nothing but politeful if that is a word - nothing seem to be too much of an issue. If you have any menu issues with the food, that can be easily accommodated. You need to enjoy the grounds during the day but equally at night it is nice just being in a quiet environment but with some low-level lighting on some of the outbuildings and just being able to look around. It is a great stopping off point and whilst the gym may not be huge, having multiple steam rooms and places to relax is excellent. The pool may not be the largest and I suppose that busy times it is described as a small activity center and that is just it. But the facility to just explore all around the hotel having quite character full lounge dining room and other areas is really nice and something different from the generic hotel type format. Definitely recommended and is more of a landing place rather than just get into a generic room and wake up in the morning. Breakfast was excellent and from the order to actually receiving the food was relatively short. Also the arrangement of the tables at breakfast allows you to at least interact with others whilst also enjoying the excellent view. Placing things in the middle of the room and actually preparing the breakfasts is very different than the usual buffet style soggy scrambled eggs and a few different juices that is the offering at other places. I think ultimately it also depends on the group and disappears to be a place more for the discerning and everyone seem to be very polite also

Amazing hotel, best service ever! Every person who met us at the hotel, was super friendly and helpful, people who work at hotel are gems in a crown. Was perfect room, the biggest one with a lot of windows around.. fresh flowers in the room, present for our daughter, milk and homemade cookies for little one before sleeping, I had fantastic massage with Jasmine 2 day in a row because of my backpain, I would come to meet her for massage with a pleasure next time, her hands and technique are very special and worth to come 100%%%, pure relax. People who work at the restaurant, front office, chef, and amazing head of the housekeeping was supet nice and lovely, you feel that everyone happy to see you and making your day special 😍 hotel itself beautifully, big swimming pool and jacuzzi with views on the garden around it, land and greenery around the hotel with breathtaking views!!! All sweets what we tried at the hotel was great quality and tasty! Some of things from high tea, as sandwiches and avocado toast in the breakfast could be better,.. next time we would like to try restaurant for dinner and hope the quality and taste will be on high level as everything else) Thanks to all people who work at the hotel, we impressed!

Magnificent 4 night stay in this wonderful historic, period hotel.

From arrival to check out the staff could not have been more attentive and friendly.

Our beautiful "Stour Suite" featured room was located at the front of this Grade 1 listed building overlooking 40+ acres of landscaped grounds where deer roam freely.

The opulent dining room served delicious locally sourced cuisine paired with sublime wines from around the world. For us, the chateaubriand was the star of the show, so good we had it twice over the 4 nights.

Many staff ensured our stay was as good as it could be but special mentions to a few who went over and above customer service expectations.
