Absolutely disgusting, cobwebs all over, white stains on the covers, carpets falling off stairs, pubes in bed sheets, black mould in windows and that's just the start of it. Had to stop there as late at night after a prior booking showing pictures of a lovely hotel and arriving to a nightmare of a hotel. Only one good thing about it the reception lady was very helpful. To top it all off water buckets on floor with dripping water onto electrics. Was so pleased to come out alive. Now waiting for a full refund that I guess will never show

Cheap, relatively central but very tired!
Apparently (according to the locals) this was once a top notch place, now it is obviously in the process of being renovated but at the time of writing this review (April '19) it's still a long way from complete.
Plus sides are, the linen is clean, the heating is great and the shower is hot, plus you can see the potential this place has given the location and ample parking. Down sides are, it's very very tired, reasonably noisy (not great sound proofing) and a bit Bates Motel
There's a shop over the road (where I grabbed a Costa) and a pub nearby, and it's a fraction of the price of anywhere nearby. I really do hope the owners manage to turn it around and bring it back to it's former glory

Easy check in/out, friendly staff. Room was very well priced, it was a little rough around the edges as was expected. The bed was clean and very comfortable & the shower was nice & hot. For price and facilities this was just what we needed for an overnight stay. The building & grounds are under gradual renovation....it will be stunning when completed. Will come back when we're next up this way. Thank you

The room and staff were good, fast WiFi, only 2 let downs in that there was no bar and more importantly I wasn't aware that there was no way to purchase breakfast. There is a 24 hours garage right next door with food options so that was handy and a couple pubs walking distance nearby. Would definitely stay again and well worth staying for the price...

Visited a few friends who had booked here, only intended to be a few hours and I'd come straight from work. Got an urgent knocking at the door, visitors to the room are not allowed!! MUST use the reception area to talk! 'Company Policy '.
Never known anything like it, I wanted a chilled chat with a brew, not a chat in an open public area. Definitely would not recommend booking here.

Don't ever stay here it's disgusting & dirty! Carpet was stained, black mould in the bathroom, fake leather headboard flaking curtains half hanging off rail. Furniture badly chipped. Cups didn't even match! We paid £40 for the night & should of been £80! Are they having a laugh!! Even £10 Would of been to much!!

Okay so it's a 3 star hotel. People reviewing here are going on as if it's a Radisson Bleu hotel and they got Dr Frankenstein's lab!! Few points. The building interior is going through renovation so it smells a bit of fresh paint and "plaster" in some corridors. The front of house, however, is just stunning. Beautiful design and outlay. Albeit a bit dull of lighting. The room? Well the room is lovely. Freshly stocked tea and coffee, kettle, hair dryer, mirror, lamps etc. The bed was freshly made and really well presented. Bathroom was clean and tidy. When you pay £30 for a room, you get what you pay for. I for one am not displeased with it. Mattress was rather hard but the pillows were soft. All round 4/5 stars for me. Free parking too for visitors.

Shocking customer service.

We booked a few weeks ago and less than 24 hours before we were due to arrive they called to say they're shut.

Whilst I understand that with current circumastances places have to close, but I'm that case they shouldn't be taking bookings and definitely shouldn't be calling less than 24 hours before to tell us.

This has meant we have to find another hotel despite not having our refund yet.

I would not recommend.
