Black Lion Hotel

What can I say, a lovely pub with two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Fantastic value and the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This is how a true country pub/Inn should be. The food is lovely (I've tried most of the menu) and the breakfasts are truly superb. They are busy doing the bedrooms out but you can see the quality that they aspire to when you see the completed rooms.
I have stayed over with my wife and also taken a number of friends there. All have either returned with their partners or intend to in the near future. I am looking forward to our next stay.

Actually, we have never stayed at the Hotel as we stay on a nearby caravan and camping site.
However, we always make a visit during our stay as the welcome is always warm.
The food is excellent, freshly prepared and delicious.
The drinks, we choose, are from a local brewery and are freshly pulled with taste and character.
The premises are being restored to its former glory and we notice big changes every time we visit.
We look forward to visiting the Black Lion as much as we enjoy staying on site.
It's a great area to visit and we try to do this 3 or 4 times a year.

Had a lovely stay here while on a mountain biking trip. The owners could not have been nicer or more helpful! The building is a work in progress but or room was just fine (couple of issues I'm sure will soon be resolved) and our dinner and breakfast were tasty !

Trish and Dave are very hospitable hosts. Obviously things are up in the air with the current situation but they are working hard and using the time to do some renovations. Room was clean and comfortable, a bit chilly to start with but soon heated up. Good portions for evening meal and breakfast. Nice beer too.

Great Hospitality, Excellent Food.

Stopped at the Black Lion Hotel on Sunday 22nd July with a couple of biker mates, we will choose this place next time we are in the area.
The Hospitality we received was exceptional, I have to say the ploughmans lunch I had was the best I've had and the landlord and landlady were friendly.

Trish and Dave were wonderful hosts, the rooms are clean and smart and the guest lounge and dining room very comfortable. They coped very well with 6 of us and our mountain bikes and we had a great time. Trish’s home cooked food really hit the spot and Dave’s beer was excellent. Trish even sorted us out with a much needed packed lunch for our last day on the Trans Cambrian way, perfect.

Fantastic pub with very friendly owners and full of friendly locals. Generous portions of good pub grub too. Don’t be surprised if you see a World Rally Champion popping their head in to hello! Will definitely be coming back
