Hotel needs updating , however staff were amazing and friendly and the beds were so comfy which are the main things. Breakfast was good with a good selection. Yes we would stay again however a tip ask for a room at the front of the hotel when you book. Its not the hotels fault but our room overlooked the carpark and we were woken up at 6am by the bin lorry then again at 6.30 am by the food supplies lorry. We were also above the kitchen fan and around 7 am and 7pm when the hotel starts cooking we had to close the windows as the smell of fat was awful.

We went to The Lion for afternoon tea and it was absolutely perfect.
Sausage rolls and quiches were homemade, beautiful sandwiches, scones, homemade cookies, tart and trifles. All excellent 10/10

We went to the Lion hotel for Dinner while staying in Criccieth so pleased with it that we booked to stay in February, Friendly, well spaced out with a country pub style bar. Both me and my partner had the steak which was cooked to perfection for both of us, great portions and sides were all very tasty. Very reasonable priced for excellent food and drinks, we especially enjoyed the selection of quality Ales available, can't wait to go back.

We stayed room 21 17th and 18th October. Very good location. Very good parking. Breakfast excellent local produce and you could tell. Staff very friendly. Room slightly dated but overall more than good value for the price we paid

Friendly service in this hotel with an air of faded splendour. Comfortable accommodation and large room with sea view (15) Good choice of breakfast
Slight negatives....steps from car park to rear hotel entrance..tricky for those with mobility issues. Evening menu was impressive but expensive...need more modestly priced options.

The room was clean and spacious. Lovely and warm. Brilliant reception and bar staff , so kind and helpful. The hotel is vintage and has a lovely bar and fining room. Rooms a little bit tired but we loved it,

Went in for evening meal and drinks. Great service and fab food. But no atmosphere. There was only 5 people and they left. Everyone was in the opposite pub. This pub has always been packed on previous visits. What's gone wrong?

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a weekend while we were visiting North Wales. Zoe, who checked-in us was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. We were located in Beaumaris room which had stunning looks and overlooked the Criccieth Castle. The hotel has a pub and a restaurant with amazing food and drink options. We were served full Welsh breakfast with both cold and hot breakfast options. There is an Indian restaurant about a minute walk from the hotel. A minor comment about the Beaumaris room is that, as some other review already mentioned, the green light from the alarm in the bedroom creates a ghost like image on the bedroom door. So don’t freak out if you notice a green ghost in the room. We are definitely going back to this hotel next year and would definitely recommend it.
