Wonderful hotel, very clean and welcoming. Rooms available on the ground floor (in the courtyard). If disabled parking is required you are able to prebook it. Food is really nice, we had 2 nights with breakfast, and also ate in the restaurant in the evenings. Very nice and would return to the Royal Sportsman 😀

Only came for an evening meal. The food was exceptional but the dining room lacked a little ambiance. Table cloths and a dimming of the lights would have made a world of difference. Wonderful staff. Would recommend.

While spending the weekend at Porthmadog we decided to book Sunday lunch at the Royal Sportsman. Nice recently redecorated interior. Of the two staff we encountered the youngest was by far the best. Food was OK if a little on the pricey side. £17.95 for Sunday lunch, beef, lamb or chicken. My wife asked if she could have a small amount of beef and lamb and was told no , no marks then for trying to please the customer . I think they need to get out and check the competition, might just pick up a few handy tips.

We popped in for dinner as a family of four two adults and two children. Lovely restaurant inside and beautifully decorated. I felt although the food was beautiful it is a big let down not having a childrens menu which resulted in our childrens meals actually being dearer than the adults meals (two burgers priced at £15 each for children). Felt a little unwelcome and overcharged, very expensive one hour dinner. Actually the most expensive meal of our holiday here.

Only popped in by chance. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Kindly found us a table for 2, brought cups of tea for which we were desperate and allowed us to warm up before bring taken to the dining room for an excellent meal. Many thanks.

Stopped for a quick drink to be greeted by a lovely friendly lady on reception. Lovely decor and the beer was cracking, will definately call again 👌

3 nights, kind staff, comfy room, really pleasant food with good portion sizes for someone on the road n eating far too many meals out. Would happily stay again.

Very good quality hotel, with helpful and attentive staff. The hotel is small, but everything you need is present: from slippers and bathrobe in the room, to nice little compliments (biscuits, a cup of delicious coffee and cake on arrival). Very decent restaurant: not only varied and tasty breakfast, but also an opportunity for lunch and dinner if necessary. Dinner with live music adds to the enjoyable experience. The room is small but very functional - everything you need is there. All in all, well done!
