Our place to stay for a Welsh weekend with my love. Not far from the historical center and from the Sophia's park. Calm neighborhood if you love the silence.
A lot of pubs and restaurants around the hotel. Service was top notch, we appreciated particularly the Welsh breakfast and the staff was very helpful and kind.

Lovely private hotel in the upmarket Pontcanna area of Cardiff.
The hotel is a not a modern layout, but that is part of the charm.
Great staff, and a lovely cooked to order breakfast.
Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Really enjoyed our stay, room was clean, comfortable and had everything that was needed. Great breakfast too. Enjoyed the vintage feel and eco approach to the crockery. Large hotel with a warm and cozy feel.

We only stayed for one night. Friendly staff.

Lovely room, mattress was very comfortable.

Love how they have kept the old fashioned feel to it, in the sitting room. The breakfast was lovely, service very good.

Good selection of cereal, juices and Welsh cakes.

Shame the bar was closed, not sure why.
Would have been nice to have a drink in the bar. Or have some dinner or snacks as we arrived late and were starving, We were recommended a lovely Italian restaurant five minutes walk away, which was really good.

Parking has space for about 10 cars in the car park, but we found a space.

We had a weekend stay. Very good breakfast. Room was ok but needs updating especially the bathroom which was an add on and not done very well. I had booked a room with bath which was confirmed but given a room with a shower and no explanation or apology etc given. I have emailed since to give them feedback but no response.
The bar was still closed which was disappointing and generally the hotel didn't feel like it should from the photos.
Nice location and local facilities though nearby.

Maybe 4 stars but on the whole a good stay. For a good price and walk able to the city centre. Room was large but we're disturbed a few times by Squeaky floor boards above and doors opening outside but I think this comes to be expected with an old converted house. The staff were super friendly. Especialy at breakfast. Unfortunately haven't mastered a drippy poached egg though!

Also has a private car park but advised to arrive early as it can fill up.

Stayed here on a work visit to Cardiff. It's quite a trek from the centre and after about 9pm I couldn't find anywhere local for a bite to eat. The hotel restaurant is not currently open, not is there bar.

Nice and close to the beautiful castle park, but if you are a lone female you might not enjoy the walk to the hotel as you skirt the edge of the park along quite dark streets for an extended period.

Amazing building and friendly staff but all a bit dated and a right faff checking in. Feels quite expensive for what you get. Can't really recommend I'm afraid as there are cheaper and better equipped hotels in the centre...

The hotel was characterful in a nice area and convenient to the city centre. On arrival the staff were friendly. The King room was slightly disappointing as it was quite small and the shower room although adequate was very compact. There was a broken tap on the wash basin and the shower could have done with a clean to get rid of the mould around the seals etc. The mattress protector was stained and needed changing.
The breakfast was lovely and the dining room staff were friendly and polite. The bar that was mentioned on the website didn’t appear to be open.
On our last morning when we awoke there was no power in our room. There was no telephone to contact reception and when a call was made by mobile phone to the hotels main number there was no reply. When my partner went to the reception area there was no one to be seen. When he returned later the receptionist was aware there was no power in the rooms on our floor but all he could suggest was that we waited until it got lighter. My partner explained that we wished to use a hairdryer but the receptionist dismissed that comment. We fully understand that it was no one’s fault that the power had gone off and that an electrician had been called but we were very disappointed that we were not offered an alternative room or at least the use of a room with working electric sockets. We took it upon ourselves to go downstairs to the lounge to enable the use of the hairdryer. On checking out there was no apology for the inconvenience caused and we felt this was very unprofessional and poor customer service 😞
