Probably the worst place I've ever stayed. We arrived here for a 2 night stay after a full day of walking, looking forward to a relaxed evening and a good nights sleep to start again the next morning. Upon checking in we paid for the 2 nights up front and the person behind the bar was taking our breakfast order, he was not sure if they had a vegetarian option but I'm not that bothered so we ordered a regular breakfast and a maybe vegetarian breakfast if they did one and went up to the room. Within 30 minutes we had decided we didn't want to stay the 2 nights. The place was dingy, there were bugs in the bathroom - we later found that the shower only does freezing cold or boiling hot water and they host karaoke until 1am directly below the rooms. So I went to the bar and asked to cancel the second night and was told to cancel via booking.com and speak to the owner in the morning to get a refund for the second night. So that's what I did. Cancelled via booking.com around 5pm. The next morning we had decided we didn't want to find out what breakfast had in store for us so we go downstairs to ask about the refund and be on our way. The owner (I assume?) was sitting at a table on her phone and initially I thought she was a guest until she asked from her seat if we were alright and I said I wanted to ask about getting a refund for the second night. She proceeded to tell us that we caused a lot of trouble by cancelling through booking.com, apparently someone had booked our room at 9pm for that night after we cancelled it and it caused an issue for them. I apologised and told her it was what we were advised to do. She then said she could only give us a partial refund but would have to wait for her husband (for which she gave no reason) because we cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, despite the fact that we cancelled the night prior and they're so popular that they filled our room while we were still in it. This was 2 weeks ago and no refund partial or otherwise has been sent to me so basically I paid £110 for the worst nights sleep I've ever had.

Great quiet pretty location. In a historical property which oozes charm & character. Thats just the hotel, the bar had everything you could drink & some!!! Both Miles & Norma, and all the staff where friendly, helpful and great hospitality. I highly recommend staying here. Exceptional value went beyond my expectations. My Sister works in the Luxury travel industry, she paid twice as much to stay in Nants Hall 4 star, she said my hotel was perfect . Room very clean, comfortable with all the trimmings...Ensuite bathroom with towels, toiletries, loads of space and the shower was lovely and hot. I didnt expect a tv & sofa in my room either, free wifi and kettle, with coffee, teas, sugars, sweeteners and biscuits. I actually felt guilty that I hadn't paid enough, as I was shown the breakfast menu! The choice was perfect, full on meat feast or continental or light and healthy. The view of the church of Saint Peter & St. Frances is beautiful in room 9, well worth the money. Thankyou for the laughs
& stories of local people. No complaints, I had a great time, it was perfect.

What a gem of a place this is, nicely stocked bar, plenty of parking and decent sized rooms. It's a very welcoming place to stay and we'll certainly be back. Unbeatable value for money.

Start with good bits one woman behind the bar seemed nice. The cook seemed nice and did a ok breakfast. Now for the bad the room had mold there where cracks all in the window frames the drawers had dead insect in which my daughter cleaned out the bedding had blood stain on and other stains on mattress so did not sleep in the bed l once just slept on top with clothes on. The was ment to be daily house keeping but there was the same bed sheet towels everything as before. There was trimming off in the toilet and just lent up the wall. I normally would not mind a crack or what ever but this was something else. I never approach the owners I suffer from anxiety and did not want to start confrontation Infront of my 12 year old daughter who is the only reason we stayed.

We arrived a little early to which it was locked up we rang.and was told the gentleman had gone to cash and carry so we had a walk around. Gentleman was friendly and gave us our key explained that the doors would be lock at 12 and alarm for pub would be on so if out after 12 would need to use the back entrance which we didn't mind.on entering our room was clean and tidy but one window didn't have a curtain up so was open for people to see in threw I used a towel that was meant to be to stand on after a shower. The shower was freezing cold and we couldn't get any hot water at all so we ended up having to have strip washes I could wash my hair all time I was there. The breakfast was nice but could do with more choice there was no beans or blackpudding. There was a nice atmosphere in there of a night time but little music and had to ask for tv to be put on. I wouldn't stay again.

Great service and friendly staff. Perfect breakfast and a good location for exploring locally. Good selection of stuff on tap. Rooms are a good size but in need of modernisation. Guests staying in a hotel don't expect to use an electric shower. The green light outside illuminated the bedroom even with the curtains and blinds closed. We noticed that it is currently for sale, I would imagine any new owner would do a refurb as a matter of course. We'll keep an eye because we'd like to come back.

The rooms definitely need updating but they are very clean and comfortable. The issues we had was the shower was absolutely freezing meaning neither myself nor my husband actually had one instead just a strip wash. The door didn't close properly to the bathroom either and also no heating at all despite this being advertised so we both kept waking during the night cold. We even brought our own blankets in from the car to help but made no difference.
Breakfast was delicious but could do with more options for cooked as just sausage, egg, bacon, tomato and toast that you order the night before. I had to tell the waiter that his yoghurt was out of date by 4 days, but dealt with swiftly. Overall would not return until upgraded.

Omg avoid . What a dump . It's like the local Labour club with outdated rooms . Stinks of damp and the owner or manager is more interested in chatting with his local boozers than his paying guests . The room was cold unwelcoming and small . When I asked for a different room he asked for another 10 pound on top of the 65 already paid . I went to lyons nant Hall for the same price and it was a million times better . Don't even bother giving it a try . It should be closed down permanently......
