A 2 star hotel with a 5 star welcome from the family that run it. The room was spotless and we ate dinner in the bar next to the roaring fire. Wonderful, home cooked food and plenty of it. Breakfast was excellent. We visit the area regularly and usually camp but we will definitely be staying here whenever we can, a perfect home from home. Thankyou for your hospitality

We arrived on motorbikes which could of stayed in locked garages overnight, however we were happy for them to stay in the carpark. Lovely Hotel in a lovely setting. Family run hotel and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. I have a dairy allergy which they were wonderful at accommodating too! Home cooked food was absolutely delicious lovely big portion after a long day of riding. Few bottles of wine and a couple of games of pool and we had a restful nights sleep! We will be returning and using this hotel as ‘base camp’ for future rides.

Stayed 2 separate nights for a work activity, located right next to the A44, I thought the traffic would be a problem but after 9pm the road is quiet with few cars and trucks, windows block most noise.
Excellent view of the valley and a small stream at the bottom when looking over the fence.
A nice welcome by the owner on arrival and staff very nice.
Meals are generous, the shepherd's pie is very much recommended by me as is the haloumi fries !
Beds comfortable, rooms very clean and tidy.
Didn't get chance to sample the full Welsh breakfast as leaving early though next visit I will.
Recommend a stay here, really good scenery and walks also.

This is a lovely little hotel. It's not the Ritz, but the hotel has character and is quirky, and the room was clean, spacious and airy. We had a tremendous welcome from the family who run it, even to the extent of providing baguettes for breakfast as we had to leave early. Add to this the spectacular scenery that is mid Wales and you have a great base for a couple of nights. I would definitely stay there again, and thanks to the staff

A nice overnight stay, the staff/owners were very kind and incredibly accommodating. As I have a dairy allergy they took great care to adjust the menu to meet my needs and really went above and beyond to provide alternatives. The room was clean. And the views from the beer garden were breathtaking, if you walk around back you can walk a bit of the Cambrian Way which was the perfect after dinner stroll!

The staff were really plesant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. For the evening meal we had a Welsh Steak , which was cooked to perfection. Great location and ample free parking.

Just returned from another two day stay with my partner. The hotel is so clean, the food very good and the staff are all so very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going again next year. The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings and close to Devils Bridge perfect for a relaxing break.

The George Borrow is an interesting stay. The staff and food are great (definitely get the breakfast!), and the beds are comfy. However it definitely needs some TLC - there are small things in each room that don't match the high level of hospitality the staff set! None of these are deal breakers (noisy pipes & bathroom extractors, dripping showers, drooping pictures in frames, some mould on the bathroom ceiling) but it's a shame that these small things let down such a lovely hotel, with absolutely stunning views!

I'll definitely be staying again in the future
