The hotel is definitely the best in Usk.
The staff were attentive and very friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and it is obvious that the staff care deeply about its appearance and keep it (and the service) to a higher standard. The hotel grounds are well presented and it is a nice addition that it is dog friendly.
The breakfast is great and again is complimented by great service.

There is not a lot to dislike but fair warning, if the weather is nice the rooms do get very hot at night (especially on the top floor) but a fan is provided that we ran all night.

We arrived on Friday, 1st July and later that evening had a 3 course meal, which was included in the room price. It was absolutely delicious and everyone in our party thought the same. The next day was my son and his fiancée’s wedding. Oh! Wow! From start to finish the whole experience was amazing . The room was decorated beautifully and everything ran smoothly. The wedding breakfast was fabulous . Every single member of staff was just the best. They looked happy in their jobs and it showed. They were friendly and polite, but very efficient . The three young men behind the bar were really good with my 18 year old grandson, who is autistic . They were interacting with him and he really enjoyed it. A credit to their parents . Carol , with whom my son was liaising about the wedding, went above and beyond. Offering advice and suggestions and generally keeping the happy couple’s spirits up over the passed horrendous couple of years. A day worth waiting for.

The hotel is a beautiful building, the host at the door was very welcoming. Our room had the four poster bed and was extremely comfortable...and high of the floor. The hotel is situated only a short walk from some shop's and very friendly pubs . And even though it's close to a road, you can hardly hear a car pass by. Well worth a visit .

Celebrated my Father's 80th birthday here last Saturday. Superb service the waiters couldn't be more attentive.
Everyone enjoyed the food.
We couldn't have been happier.
Thank you to all the staff

We stopped here for 1 Saturday night and from what we experienced I'm not sure what makes this a 4* hotel. It is a 3* at best. So the bad points from my view are the rooms were very dated but we had a super modern bathroom, there was some modern decor but a lot of old fashioned decor which is fine but altogether in the room just didn't work. The TV is so old if you didn't regularly turn it over it just stops working so you would have to turn it on and off. The wallpaper was all starting to peel off the walls. The outside of the building is beautiful and looks the part but inside feels worn down and tired.
Dinner was rubbish. We had chicken strips in a cheese sauce and duck with poached apricot in a cranberry sauce. So the chicken I actually found was too much meat and nothing was seasoned, everything was plain. The best bit was my partners duck dish with the poached apricot but without that, that too would've been plain. We had just steamed vegetables with no seasonings on either, homemade chips were very good on the other hand. We had dessert in our room which too wasn't amazing. The creme caramel was tasteless and looked like it came out of the tub from a supermarket. The lemon posset was all just lemon and no biscuit or anything to give you a different texture. All puddings are £8, not sure how they justify it. The bar was very small and even though you had a lot of good spirit choice very small choice of wines or beers.
Breakfast was the highlight of our stay as that was superb but again everything might have been cooked well but there was no seasoning or flavour from the food.
With the room price of £150 and then x2 drinks, x2 desserts and x2 main course meals which was a total of £77 we did feel a bit cheated for what we paid for.
Having stayed at 3* hotels around the area they was much better and better value for money.
The service was good, so can't fault that. But for the money and experience we had personally I wouldn't come back.

Fabulous place, stayed the night with other members of family for our 10th Wedding anniversary. Had a celebration meal in the 'library', it was excellent both the service and food. Hotel couldn't have been more helpful from booking, to helping with our arrangements and throughout our stay.

We were there 2 nights for a wedding. We had dinner the evening before, breakfasts and the wedding breakfast and the food and service was outstanding. Our bedroom was lovely and comfortable and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We would definitely book there again. Excellent
