The person who greeted us was friendly on our arrival. The "hotel" is more like a substandard B&B. We are both in our 60's the bed in our room was up against the wall on one side my husband had to scramble out of the end of the bed if he needed to get up in the night. The bed was uncomfortable with the springs sticking in you all night, the pillows were all different and uncomfortable, the bed linen the bottom sheet was OK the top sheet seemed to be a rather long single sheet which only just fitted across the bed spent 4 very uncomfortable nights unable to sleep properly. The breakfast was changeable the first morning 2 bacon, 1 egg, 1 sausage, baked beans and tinned tomato and was good, the rest of the week it was horrid the bacon now down to one slice burnt to a crisp the sausage also having the same fate on occasions, the egg always hard even when you asked for runny egg, the tomato was luke warm or cold. The shower door would not close and the toilet seat was loose. Being close to the sea front it should have been excellent but the whole place needs the hotel inspectors touch to bring it up to a reasonable standard.

I won't even give a star to this 'hotel' I normally do not leave any bad reviews, But when we arrived to Kensington hotel I had to ask for clean bedding as they were dirty. No cold water in the sink or shower so we couldn't have a shower. We reported to reception, but not solutions given. They said they going to check the problem. We arrived late that evening and to my surprise no cold water again only boiling hot so we have to leave , but before we have to wait all morning to see someone at reception. They didn't have more bedrooms available so we have definetely to leave the kids at reception and leave a note to call me so we can have a refund at less for the last night we didn't stay there. I have never received a phone call even to apologise and obviously not money back.
I do not recommend this place at all. Very disappointed.

Thank you so much for your hospitality, I often worry when I'm staying in a hotel on my own for work but you were so nice and welcoming and you were happy to compromise to my needs which I was extremely greatful for. Friendly staff. Handy location close to all the shops and amusements. Shower works well beds are comfortable. Plenty wardrobe and drawers space kettle provided in the room. Reasonably priced and I would stay here again.

Visited here for two nights. It is right on the front very close to the really clean beach, bars and shops. Ideal location and just across from the sea life centre too.
It is a lovely place to stay and the owner cannot do enough for you. She is truely a lovely lady and I will be returning to stay again.

Tired and shabby accomodation, bathroom had mildew, extractor not working, beds not made down daily. Update after owner feedback We actually stayed 2 nights, we find the best way is not to return, would you like the pictures posted of the bathroom mildew. We would loved to have complained, however there was never anyone in reception.

Only stayed overnight with my husband and daughter. Very welcoming staff. Rooms in need of updating. Had en suite and drink making facilities but the decor was very tired looking. Would definitely stay again.

Stay away at all costs!!!! Rooms were freezing we slept with our coats on as bed sheets were too dirty to get under. We had to climb 4 flights of broken down stairs while carry our luggage and we weren't offered any assistance. The breakfast was appalling ; the milk had a layer of dust on top and everything else was stale. Breakfast included cereal and a banana. Kept awake all night because of the owners singing to sooth her dog. We also were tempted to shower with our socks and shoes on as showere was so disgusting. Only gave it a star because it wasn't possible to give it none
