Arrived 11.pm to be given normal double room when I had booked a family room. It transpired there was a fault in the system and there were now no family rooms left. Lady on reception quickly found 2 double rooms next to each other as an alternative at no extra charge. Rooms a little dated and would benefit from some redecoration. Rooms were however very large. Breakfast very nice with plenty of choice. Would stay there again without hesitation.

It was a convenient stay, seeing as the hotel was not far from the place of conference. However there were a few cons such as no toilet brush- which was annoying at times; it would be great if there was a water fountain of some sort to refill your water bottle, in case there’s no staff around to attend to your callings. Also there was one day the cleaners unfortunately did not clean out my bathroom bin, causing it to become full - which was inconvenient. Apart from that everything overall was good.

Group of 4 of us stayed here as part of a golfing weekend at the Celtic Manor. booked with them directly.
When you walk in the reception is very nice however the queue to check in to nearly 15 minutes and there were only 4 people in front of us.
The room is functional but clean. However there wasn't even a bottle of water in there to drink so you either had to drink from the tap in the bathroom or pay for bottled water in the bar.
The Rib restaurant was great for evening meal. The drinks were a little pricey but I guess you expect that. 2 x Double G&T and 2 pints were £36
Breakfast though was very disappointing. The coffee was instant and very poor. Asked for a better coffee and it was no better. The fruit etc was good as were the baked goods but the Cooked breakfast was dry and poor.
Our room overlooked the courtyard area at the back which was very tatty looking.
Very disappointing that residents have to pay extra for the car park too £8.50 per vehicle.
For a Brand that is known for its quality , ie Celtic Manor , this Hotel is a major disappointment and does not live up to expectations.

We loved this place so much that we stayed an extra night!

From the moment we arrived and were met on the front desk by Kirsty, we really enjoyed our stay. Clean and well maintained foyer, hallways, restaurant and bar area. We stayed in a lovely room that that had really nice decor and was not stuffy. A good size for the three of us with comfortable beds, and the bathroom was perfect. The staff were helpful whenever we needed assistance, and we felt very relaxed during our entire stay. The atmosphere in the hotel was calm which is exactly what my family and I needed.
All in all a very nice and enjoyable stay. If we go back to that part of Wales again, we will definitely be staying there.

Really nice hotel with friendly professional staff.

Rooms are comfortable and spacious with good fittings in a classic style. Bathroom is again spacious and more modern. Nice big bed and room was quiet too which is always much needed.

Breakfast was nice but eggs were a little dry but really good selection of hot and cold food.

My only issue was food stopped being served on room service before 9 which meant had to find food elsewhere. Also no directory in room which meant calling reception was a call 0 and hope situation.

Wonderful hotel unfortunately surrounded by dual carriageway s and Motorway. Great for access and Celtic Manor. Staff excellent. Food good. Rooms wonderful though bed uncomfortable as 2 twins pushed together. If you open window too much road noise. Also they charge £8.50 for parking which is unnecessary.
I would recommend.

We were travelling from Wiltshire to Wales visiting friends & family. As we had an early morning start we decided to drive into Wales the evening before and stay in a hotel to break the journey and get a head start. We arrived at Saturday evening and was advised the room type we had reserved was no longer available so we were given an upgrade. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed and large bathroom with big double shower. The breakfast was really nice too with lots of choices from cereal/continental to cooked. The staff were excellent and so friendly and helpful too! I would definitely stay here again, the only negative which we were aware of was having to pay £8.50 to park the car!

We were attending a function so it served it's purpose, but I will not be returning if I visit the area again.
The room was good, spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed, but beyond that there was little to recommend. Check in was slow, bar service slower, the continental breakfast options were good, and while the selection of cooked items was just as you would expect their temperature barely reached lukewarm.
