The Monachty

The hotel room was quiet, clean and comfortable. We were greeted by a pleasant chap who checked us in and showed us to our room.
We chose just to have the basic breakfast, and were happily accommodated when we turned up early after getting our times mixed up. We did not eat supper in the bar so cannot comment on the food quality.
All in all a very pleasant stay

Room was ok nice view, toilet was very noisy when you flush it. Breakfast was not very good , no fruit or pastries as described on the menu, food was burnt and very greasy, it also took a long time when we were the only table there!on a positive note the waitress was very nice and apologetic but we were sat by the kitchen and could hear the chef who was very unpleasant and rude about our requests!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed by the Sunday dinner. The vegetables were completely cold, as was my vegetable tart. The gravy had salty lumps in it and the Yorkshire pudding was thick, rubbery and also cold. The meat was so tough my husband was unable to chew it. The staff were pleasant but the food was inedible.

The very best dog friendly eatery in the area, good quality pub grub, open for coffee in the morning.
When we arrived there were more dog's than people in the one room. Bowl's of water for the dogs under every table.
Very freindly staff.

I visited with my family for an evening meal. They were extremely busy and the guy behind the bar did an excellent job despite being behind the bar on his own.
I have given such a low score due to the attitude and lack of regard shown by the lady on duty whom I asked for assistance concerning items on their menu regarding gluten content. She did not know the answer and clearly had no interest in helping us.
On each of the tables there was a small sign directing people to log on to their website to check out the meals regarding food allergies. Despite trawling the site extensively there was no way of finding this out.
We were tired and hungry when we arrived and just needed to relax, other wise we would have gone elsewhere. The food we did order was very nice but as we couldn’t access the allergy information my daughter chose the safe option rather than what she wanted as she couldn’t risk it.
The customer service we received from the lady in question was dreadful, she basically didn’t want to help. Very much got the impression that if we’d been local (or Welsh) the help would have been available as we witnessed this.
Real shame as we’d visited the year before and enjoyed a nice family meal. We will not be returning.

Stayed a night when passing through on the 3rd March 2019. Good value for the money, good food. Breakfast was more than adequate. Clean room. Shower temperature was only thing that we found difficult to adjust and get the right temperature
Nicola was very friendly as were the rest of the bar staff. Will stay again in the future.

Stay here a number of times throughout the year and the staff are always pleasant and friendly. Food is like weatherspoons but not bad for the money you are paying. They are very accommodating with breakfast offering white or brown, different choice of ways to have your eggs. The rooms are to a good standard although the last 2 times the showers has been cold. I am assuming its because all the other rooms are also using the shower. But overall pleasant stay.

The food was good would have liked a better selection of vegan and vegetarian food. However there was entertainment on when we were there and it was way too loud. You couldn't talk to the person next to and it just made us want to get out as quick as possible and not come back.
