Wolfscastle Country Hotel

Fantastic place for food. Lovely setting and fabulous service. Always call in for Sunday lunch when passing one of the best we have had. All top quality produce and plenty of it. Well presented and piping hot. £20 for 2 courses or £26 for the 3 courses…very highly recommended if you’re down this way.

Group of 170 for a prayer breakfast. Service and food were excellent To be able to serve up 170 breakfast of good quality and hot is a credit to the hotel. Such a lovely, clean and well decorated venue too. Always enjoy going to this place.

Spa day and Afternoon Tea:- facilities are clean, relaxing, and comfortable. Staff are excellent at their jobs; friendly, accommodating, and skillful. Highly recommend the Full Body Massage. Hot Tub, Sauna, and shower/changing rooms are a little slice of luxury.

Now for the food:- simply heavenly. Beautifully presented, ample amount, and delicious. Going again. Soon.

This isnt as much a review of the hotel as such, but a review of the owner. Some time ago me and my then fiance met with the owner of the hotel, Andrew Stirling to discuss whether or not we would like to have our wedding reception there. The hotel looked lovely and the food looked amazing. The meeting however was very bizarre. He spent the whole hour talking to us about himself and didnt ask us anything about ourselves or what we wanted. He then proceeded to give us a free copy of his book "My life and other recipes". Not only did he do this but he also signed the front page of his book and wrote us a personal message (I googled him afterwards to see if he was famous, he was not). He went on to read to us extracts from his book as if it was a bible study and kept expecting us to laugh and jokes he had written. He continued to tell us his life story, about how he was previously married to the wrong woman and had since remarried a woman 20 years younger than him. (You can read more about this in his book) I'm sure the food is lovely there and the place looks immaculate, but needles to say we did not have our wedding reception there.

Had a brilliant time at the wolfcastle hotel and spa.
I took my girlfriend there for a surprise spa weekend and it couldn't have been any better.
The spa treatments were incredible and the staff in the spa were amazing. The hottub, and sauna were nice, and was made better because it was private. (They make it so you get an hour spa use before your treatment, and it's only you in there)
We enjoyed a free room upgrade due to a massive Xmas party going on, so we were away from all the noise.
The evening meal was very tasty and again, the bar staff were superb. Anything we wanted they we extremely helpful and couldn't do more.
In the morning we had breakfast which was also very nice, and then enjoyed another spa treatment before heading home.
Will 100% be going back again in the new year!

Can’t comment on food yet. So called superior Rooms are worse for wear, smell of paint in room 4 no furniture was painted in this century, had or open windows on entry, went to bar for drinks mentioned to concierge said sorry, hoped smell would be gone when returned, it wasn’t. Went to have a drink from comp water bottle & both still & sparkling bottles seals were open….

We went to the spa, the girls were lovely and the treatments were very much enjoyed at this busy time. A lovely chill in the outdoor hot tub and sauna.

Always great value for money . Staff are excellent. Food excellent but I would just like a bit more on the plate - that's not a criticism though 😁
