Planet Ice Gosport

It's pretty meh. Nothing too flashy and the ice is rough around the edges. The skates to hire are mostly uncomfortable and/or falling apart. They may put disco lights on but usually just the standard white lights. Toilets are mediocre and you have to pay for lockers. They prefer for you to book online and do not give refunds. They also have a cafe and a skate shop.

It was super fun! I will be going again! The skates get stuck in the ice after there’s been a lot of people on the rink but I’m guessing it’s because they aren’t very sharp but that’s what you pay for I suppose. Regardless I had a lot of fun and the people on the rink were friendly. Other than the men that were speed skating close to people and stopping right next to people who are clearly new or not very good at skating trying to scare them or make them wobble/fall. That was annoying but otherwise really good!! Wear fluffy or thick socks because the skates are brutal on the ankles haha. Wrap a hoodie around the waist for when you fall as it will cushion it. :D

One star is too good for this place. Every time I’ve been with the children the blades are always blunt to the point you cannot skate. Management and staff have all different excuses as to the reason for not sharpening them.

This place also has a no refund policy, so don’t waste your money at this place. It seams to be run badly by staff and management that have no idea on customer.

This place is shocking. 2nd time we have been in 3 weeks as the kids want to skate but both times the skates are so blunt is almost impossible for them. We changed skates 3 times and still no difference! The guy on desk was unhelpful and didn’t care at all and responded by telling me they are all blunt and never get sharpened as the manager is never there …….. what great customer service.
I will not be returning which is a shame as it’s th only ice rink locally to us.

We attending today for the first time for a birthday party with our two sons both of whom have additional needs. Trips out tend to be a challenge especially activities like ice skating. The staff could not have been more helpful, they went out of their way to make our visit easier and were so friendly.
While we were there another customer needed first aid and the response was incredibly quick and professional. We will definitely visit again.

Went with family there, we had a great time, only few little issues such as skates could’ve been sharper as for beginners it’s hard to balance when skates are blunt and ice quality could of been bit better but all in all great experience. Will come back for sure.

We went for the 10am to 1pm session today. Good fun. Clean and tidy. As mentioned in other reviews, the rental skates are in desperate need of replacing. They are falling apart, broken and tatty. This issue would have bumped it up to 5 stars. I'm sure if they spoke to the local council/businesses they could get some sponsorship to get the funding.

Terrible experience, shame the minimum is 1 star, brought my children here for the skate with Santa. They had booked out a 3rd of the ice to lessons but had not told anybody at the time of booking. 30% of the skaters were novice and rely on the wall to get around leaving heaps of people stuck at the edge not moving. The workers on the ice had no idea what was happening. And a manager had told us she that they were also unaware. We had asked for a refund as the session had just started and we’re told it is not company policy to give refunds which in this day and age is just terrible. 2 out of 3 of my children decided to just sit the session out. I would avoid and use Guildford, this Is a first and last visit for our family. In a nutshell, a shambles. Ice is super hard and skates just drift. Really old ice.
Skate with Santa was also cancelled which was the main reason for booking. Skates are all falling apart. Staff are not kept aware of functions or any happenings !! AVOID AVOID!!
