This is what I would consider a very english local indian restaurant. Food is good, portions are big and it's inexpensive. The service is good and attentive. I would encourage to book for evenings/weekends as it gets busy.

Something has gone terribly wrong with our beloved Joy. We have been coming here for over 15 years and the food has been consistently unbelievably delicious. Last week however, after a break of about a year we could not believe how bad it was. Even allowing for the crushing of our high expectations, our meals were tepid and tasteless. We ordered uncommon items and it arrived suspiciously quickly. When we voiced our dissatisfaction they offered us a free drink, but even if they had given us a bottle of Krug it would not have compensated for the massive sense of loss of the most wonderful curry house, right in our own neighbourhood. Where can we go to get that old Joy magic?

Their customer service is very good. I spoke to their waiter, he was very sincere and polite. But we ordered Chicken Tk Masala, it was too sweet. Which we did not expect.

This place has really gone down hill. It used to be excellent but last night was such an awful experience I would never return.
The food taste and quality was poor. I had king prawn shashlick, which was 4 prawns, 2 pieces of pepper and a ton of almost raw onion. The prawns were OK at best but lacked any tandoori flavours that were promised.
This was bad but the service was even worse. We should not need to ask more than once for things but asking 6 times until we received water and glasses to drink it from (we also had wine, which was served promptly) was ridiculous.
The restaurant was not busy so there is no excuse for poor service.

RAW food alert. Just ordered from here as new to the area and wanted to check my options out having tried Thali-ho and Red rose of which both were superb. I ordered a Chicken Korma and pilau rice and collected it. Took one bite when I got home and immediately noticed the chewy raw texture. Cut open a few other pieces and all were pink as the photos attached show. Called the restaurant to ask for a refund and they told me firstly how incredible they were, secondly that I was wrong and then finally agreed to refund me. An hour later a delivery driver arrived with another order of chicken korma and pilau rice. I declined, explaining that I wasn’t going to chance eating more raw chicken and I showed the driver the bowl of food and we agreed it was pink and raw. He became pushy and tried to make me take the new order anyway. I had to decline 5 times. A telephone call followed by the manager who again told me they were marvellous and that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that he had personally checked the chicken and that it was fine. He asked the same driver if the chicken that I showed him was pink and I overheard him say “no, not pink”. Make your own minds up people (see photos that show the chicken being more pink than the pink bowl I had served it in) and be careful eating here if you like your tummies. To be fair they did apparently eventually refund me, but this is yet to drop into my account. I am a big foodie and this is now an absolute NO for me going forward.

Disappointed before I've even eaten. Ordered a half tandoori chicken in the order. Not included. I'd possibly understand if it was busy. In fairness the food was good.

Such a great meal - our go to place for huge family get togethers - delicious. Also great in the evening - nice and cool inside out of the hot weather! And toasty warm in the winter.
