I was staying in Steyning for two nights and stumbled upon this restaurant. I am so glad we went there - The food here is absolutely delicious - I would highly recommend the almashriqui chicken. The food came out piping hot and the service was top notch. There was also lovely music in the background and decor was very welcoming. I will definitely come again next time I’m in Steyning.

Probably the best curry I have had for a long time, friendly staff. I been to some good restaurants this high on the list for a re-visit. Its a Must visit!

Food was great, a bit pricey. BUT the older lady waitress with grey permed hair was so incredibly rude, literally walked away when I was trying to order twice (there was no way she couldn't have heard me, we were shocked), ignored us most of the time. She made us feel so on edge and unwelcome that we cut the meal short. I did, however, meet a lovely Indian man who worked there before we left, who was really lovely -so it may just be that one staff member! Maharajah -this really needs addressing, this lady is putting people off from coming back!

Really friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent in both flavour and presentation a big plus was that it was served at a nice relaxed pace allowing us to enjoy a leisurely meal.

Will be back when next in the village

We arrived without a booking about 6:30pm and it was quiet. Stayed until about 8pm when it was busy. Poppadoms and chutney, 2 curries rice and peshwari naan, coffee came to £57 including tip. Service and food was excellent.

If I was judging the Maharajah on the quality of its food and the waiting staff alone I’d be inclined to give it a 5⭐️.
But as a venue it would only score 1 ⭐️
Firstly I know our visit was on a Thursday evening and we were the only folks in the restaurant all evening. we were shown to our table in what I can best decried as a cavernous dining hall with absolutely no atmosphere, not even pipped musac the decor was very stark and the lighting hard with an industrial feel. I’m sure if this place was full these issues would be less obvious.
What was wrong with flock wallpaper and low level lighting.
I’m sorry maharajah but the venue lets you down, although the food was fantastic.
