Gurkha Spice

Have just ordered food for delivery. Curry didn’t taste nice at all, 15 minutes later I’m throwing up constantly. I’ve never felt so rough after eating food before. Would avoid this place at all costs.

I really hate writing negative reviews, especially for a restaurant where I have been a regular for years. Well it is safe to say I won’t be eating there again and advise anyone reading this to stay well clear, unless you want to become very unwell.

I ate in on 3rd August and around 8 hours later was severely ill with food poisoning and was unwell for 2-3 days with diarrhoea, vomiting and fever. I wasn’t sure though if it was from the Gurkha or from the holiday abroad I had just returned from so gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Fast forward to 19th August and we get a takeaway. The quality was not as good as usual and I didn’t enjoy it. Around 8 hours later my daughter is experiencing exactly the same D&V symptoms that I did on 3rd August which has really upset me.

I now conclude therefore that my food poisoning was also caused by the restaurant. Something is going seriously wrong there with food hygiene and we cannot be the only customers lately to have experienced this! I note the last review also relates to food poisoning. I will have to report this to Environmental Health as they need a re-inspection and to improve drastically.

Yet another excellent meal. 24 of us from the MAFF descended on they place. Brilliant service from Mo and the team. Really tasty curries all round, no delays. Brilliant again.

Really good range of dishes. All the food we ordered was really tasty. Very reasonable prices and great service.

There was a big table of us tonight and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was amazing. I recommend the lamb balti, it was so tender and flavourful. Very nice Indian restaurant with very good atmosphere.

Only ordered from them as my usual place wasn't available. While the poppadoms, naan, pickle and rice, were fine, the raita tasted sour for all the wrong reasons, the mango chutney was a puree, the chicken tikka masala was like warm at beast, chicken under whelming and over cooked - adding insult to injury was the terrible stomach I had for the next 36 hours. Will never order from them again.

We have used the Gurkha Spice a couple of times for take away and the food has been really good, so we decided to dine in. You wont be disappointed, it used to be March Tandoori but totally transformed by the new owner.

Christmas day lunch, the best, restaurant was busy, but the staff as always couldn't be more helpful, food was lush and service exceptional, one off fave takeaways and eat ins, keep up the good work :)
