Great little restaurant. The staff were courteous. The food was good and they provide plenty of it. There is no licence to sell alcoholic drinks, so if you fancy a tipple bring your own (no corkage fee - which is fab); they provide the glasses. There's space for circa 50 in the main restaurant and they do take away too. Parking is on the high street. Overall a great meal out.

Best curry I've had in ages!! There are but a few good restaurants in Bala and you must eat here. BYOB if you want to drink alcohol. But the food IS amazing. Friendly service, clean restaurant. A must visit in my opinion. Enjoyed different kinds of curry and had several starters as a main meal.

This place was recommended to us by our AirBnB host and didn't dissapoint. Food was great, staff were really friendly and there was a good atmosphere inside. Clearly a popular place with locals so I'd advise booking. Also don't forget to bring your own booze and it's cash only

After reading the menu, we decided to go for a set meal for two at a seemingly reasonable £27 (ish). On arrival, we were informed that the same meal would be £45 (ish) if we dined in. Needless to say, we had a takeaway, which, to be fair, was delicious and great value for money.

Very expensive (twice usual price for Indian food). Everything is very sweet. Having enjoyed Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani food all over the North of England and London, I regret to say that only those who haven't tasted proper food will enjoy. None of the food is as it should be. Meat is cooked and added to very sweet sauces that do not resemble their names. The only reason they are still in business is the lack of competition locally. Which is such a pity, as its a good location and a good sized restaurant. If they did genuine Indian food, they'd be able to charge less because they'd be very busy. We avoid completely. In fact when driving more than half an hour from Bala, we order Indian and bring it home as we miss good Indian food that much! 😕 So if you are the owners reading this - please go back to basics and launch a new menu without the sugary bland sauces. Let us know and we will be there in a shot to give it a try!

Bala Spice needs to make some major changes in the restaurant which would explain why it was empty. Literately zero atmosphere. Needs a complete makeover and make it authentic Indian decor rather than the school dinner hall feel it has. Sort out the lighting and put some candles on and some background music.
That said the food was ok and on par with you average highstreet takeaway. Service was reasonable and came with smile. Prices were a little higher than I would normally pay so a bit disappointed with the quality. £60 for a mean for two when a takeaway back home would be half that.
Being the only curry house in the area this place has the potential to be packed every night if only the owners realised what they needed to do to make it successful.

Superb food, friendly service, deserves to be a lot more busy but it was a Monday that we dined there. Prices reasonable but on the higher side for an Indian, worth every penny though.

Belting food and great service, one of the nicest Indians I have had recently and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend the sizzling Welsh lamb.
