Excellent authentic food, quite large portions, very good value for money.

No one beats their onion bhargi or their lamb methi, which is always tender & too much for 1 person!!

Don't be put off by the shabbiness of the shop, the food is amazing & all prepared & cooked on site by the family.

City Indian is Far better than any of the Cheltenham restaurants who really cater for the uneducated palet & larger wallet!!

Great authentic Indian cuisine. Place looks a bit dingy but the food is great, nice portions, and extremely reasonable prices! Delivery service is good also

Amazing food at this place. Been open for years. Every time i come to Gloucestershire i have to eat from this place. Place looks a bit antique but food is amazing. They do one of the best onions bhajis and masala chips. I also recommend the chicken tikka massala. Chicken is very tender. Portions are hugh for the price and staff are very friendly.

Cannot fault whatsoever! Delivery was exactly on time, 3 chicken kormas were loved by my 3 kids, pathia was lovely and garlic tikka bhuna was lovely apparently by my fussy Mrs. The mushroom rice was perfect with chunky fresh mushrooms not frozen watery stuff and the pilau rice was colourful and authentic in favour. The nan bread was huge if I can criticize one thing it was the"chips" which were fries and I personally prefer chunky chips. We had 5 large poppadoms with sauces and lovely salad and although we live 13 miles away, will be using this place weekly. Well done to all at city Indian as a curry eater for over 40 years, you have restored my faith in an authentic curry! All above still counts so if you live in the same street or collect an order,no change to original rating. If you live 2.7 miles away (as confirmed on Google maps) they charge you over £3 for delivery. Also their veg balti main course is £3.90. I ordered a main course Bombay potato. They charged £5! So I won't be ordering again unless I collect which is unlikely! Shame really but I could have had a chicken main course for less than a potato main??

I was recommended to use this place by friends from work and it did live up to its expectations. I ordered 3x chicken madras, 1 chicken bhuna, 2 rice and 1 keema nann for £20 with delivery!
The food was really nice and arrived on time and it was piping hot.
The place is great value for money and at £3.90 for a chicken madras is a bargain. You will not beat this place for price anywhere in Gloucester.
Highly recommended

Great tasting food, but our last order was up by £7.50 which was a 30% rise since August. We challenged it and they said they had changed the prices. We asked for a updated new menu but they said thay have not made any new menus with the new prices. Guess they can charge what they want now then!

Completely and absolutely the worst Indian meal ever!ever!ever!... I’ve never reviewed a meal, but this was so bad I felt compelled to act. Chicken Balti.. I’m no expert... but... Two quarters of a tomato, loaded with strands of onion, some chicken, flavour disgusting. Rice.... just rubbish, Keema naan...... just a soggy mess. Feeling ripped off.... At least the foxes aren’t fussy, because either them or the seagulls will have a meal tonight!

Spontanious visit. Usually use Justeat. They are not on there, so didnt know it existed. The portions are big enough to last me 3 days, so you can feel better about spending that money you shouldnt have spent on a takeaway. Im very fussy with my indian food, but this place was a change from my usual. Good prices, and the food is better than more expensive places. Only criticism is they could use real paneer cheese, not cheddar cheese lol. Its much healthier. Give it a go if you want to have a decent indian. Still not good as mums though, which is the real indian food.
