The Rice

I ordered via Just Eat for the first time in Dec 2018 and was very happy. Lots of interesting flavours, and good quality ingredients. Delivery was fairly quick though they do charge £2. The lime rice was quite bitter and the sag paneer was quite sweet, so not what we expected but still very nice!

Ordered through Just Eat. Delivered very late. But that's not the real problem...ordered three different varieties of chicken ...but two of them were 'exactly the same' packed in two different boxes. Called them to explain but the owner was reluctant to accept..at the end he said, our style is not similar style cooked in India ! The food is perhaps one of the worst I ever had.. Not tried their Biriyani but not in a mood to try something else from this place..

Very good take away. Arrived half an hour before the ETA. Saw a review saying that there wasn't enough chicken in the curry which was definitely not the case for us, perfect amount and the sauce was delicious. Would definitely order again.

The food is quite good, had a couple of dishes that don’t hit the mark like the brinjal bhaji, the aubergine was rock hard. However twice we have been kept waiting over an hour for the food to arrive. We ordered tonight at 18:30 for a delivery of 20:30, the earliest time they said they could deliver on their website. Half an hour after the delivery was due we call and it won’t be here for at least another 40 mins, no apology, no phone call to say sorry it’s going to be late. We have kept going back as we quite liked the food. I don’t want to eat at 21:30 at night. Don’t tell your customers you can deliver when you can’t. We would have ordered from elsewhere but you took that opportunity away yet again. If you want good food at a time when THEY want to deliver then the Rice is for you.

Expect a 2 hour wait! Food cold!
After having two bad experiences with this takeaway, I was talked in to giving it another go and I am very glad I did - credit where credit it due. The food arrived well before the time stated on the email and it arrived pipping hot.
The chicken was perfectly cooked, everything was delicious. I am glad I gave it another go, will definitely be ordering again, keep up the good work, the food was exceptional. 10/10.

Delivery ordered and the food for me was standard and the lamb in the Anchari, turned out to be hard n chewey which was dissapointing and it seemed to me like the meat was from a leftover and the other dish in addition wasn't anywhere near being a concellation for the badly done Anchari. I didn't even finish the dishes to be honest, I think i left it out for the stray cats. Sorry for the brutal honesty.

Yet again, ANOTHER FANTASTIC dinner for the four of us from The Rice. Absolutely love this establishment, been ordering from them for a few years.

If the delivery is delayed, they're obviously popular and busy - no matter - I'll drive the 10mins max drive to get my food and ALWAYS plenty for lunch the following day. No grease, plenty of flavour, huge portions - will recommend to anyone. And a really friendly team working there.

Im loving this curry house, I live in central london but work nights in St Albans. The food here is as good as any in town always fresh tasting with dishes I've not had before. Ive been working my way through these dishes and have been more than happy with the results. Value for money is an understatement. If you like a more authentic curry then this is the place for you.
