Chutney Indian Takeaway

Whilst the food itself was lovely, it took 1 hour 45 mins to arrive from delivery confirmation after ordering online. Told it would be an hour. When called the guy hung up on me once, 2nd time said he'd check driver whereabouts but left me hanging whilst he dealt with other customers. Third time at 1 hour 45 mins the driver happened to show as I was calling back. Completely spoilt the anticipation and excitement of ordering a rare treat during pandemic lockdown. Driver said he'd had to do 6 drops before us... And food not that hot, meaning we then had to heat ourselves again! Not worth the wait. Guy on phone couldn't care less as by then they've been paid.
Nice food, not worth the wait. Poor service, poor wait times.

I have lived in Penarth for 15 months and have been trying out most of the local Indian takeaways. We've now ordered three times from Chutney. Their food and service is excellent in my opinion. The menu has plenty of choice, including some great vegetarian options. Their food is full of flavour, tastes fresh and the portions are generous. Most importantly though, the base sauces seem to be cooked with far less oil/fat than other takeaway's I've tried. Top marks and highly recommended from me!

Popped by this evening and tried the lamb biryani. The food was excellent and the service friendly. Recently under new management it was great to walk in and be greeted by a familiar face from times gone by. Welcome back to Penarth! We will definitely be back soon.

Delicious food, ready quickly for collection, and very friendly staff at the front. Would recommend

Unfortunately the takeaway has gone downhill in recent months. Items missed on recent orders and unable to get through for over one hour on the phone. Promised refund for missing items which never came, even after reminder calls. Biriani curry sauce also watery and made with frozen mixed veg.

Standards have dropped a long way for what used to be a very nice takeaway

Food wasn’t too bad but service is very poor. Staff seem a bit careless. Wait time on delivery was almost two hours and the guy on the phone didn’t have much to say about this when I called to ask where my food was
