All I've been trying to do today is contact Home Protect to talk about my renewal policy. Unfortunately, Home protect do not make it easy to actually contact them.

I note on my renewal documents that their price Promise clearly states "When we offer a renewal price to existing customers, it will always be the same as, or better than, the price offered to new customers". That proved completely untrue, as a quick search of Home Protect rates for new customers on comparison websites came back with quotes as much as £150 less than my renewal quote.

I initially wanted to query this renewal quote with Customer Services, but having waited 45 minutes hanging on the phone that does not seem to be an easy option. Twice more I've tried to phone but no success.

Frustrated with this poor service I've just cancelled my Policy online. When it comes to taking out my next home insurance policy I'll be looking a bit more at online reviews for companies that have a good customer service rating. Home Protect won't be one of them.

Got a quote online and when I went to pay, they advised I would need to call them to finalise the quote, so I did the next day and they said they'd have to speak with their underwriters and would get back to me ASAP as my home insurance was due the next day. That was 9 days ago and still no call back, I even called a further 3 times last week and used their call back service on each occasion to save having to wait on the phone, as it had worked the first time, but now none of these calls were returned. I would not waste my time with these guys, they give cheap initial quotes because everything is an add-on and don't expect them to call you back. After waiting a few days without home insurance went with a much more reputable company called Aegis where I was able to pay online straight away with no hassle.

Got my renewal notice and the price had dropped considerably - always a pleasant surprise. I needed to contact them on some small detail and got held in a queue for some time but got the option for them to call me back, which I took: they said I wouldn't lose my place in the queue, but it was many hours later that they did finally call - but they did call and were able to resolve my query, so no complaints. They were one of the few places offering me a quote at all due to my house's proximity to water. Overall - a good experience.

We have just renewed our home insurance. It was smooth. The renewal quote was competitive- i checked. My only gripe would be that the renewal quote confirmed that it would auto renew unless we contacted to stop the renewal Once it renewed automatically we received no email to confirm and the first email i receive weeks later confirming that i have renewed also asking me to review my experience.

Policy due for renewal, happy with price but wished to advise some changes. Experienced 'high level of calls' so requested a call back. Received a call from agent who was not listening to the information I wished to give her but preferred to quote the script she was given. The result was policy price increased and new conditions added. Requested a copy of new policy by post - email received. Having checked the documents, I sent an email detailing the incorrect information loaded on the policy. Received a response 2 days later which had correctly noted the changes I wished to originally advise.
Need more staff who are fully trained or have supervision to hand.

Called after work to renew my policy as cheaper than anywhere else for a Grade 2 list house. Had to hold for approx 15 minutes, but I thought that wasn't too bad. All sorted very quickly and staff very polite and everything explained very clearly.

Just renewed with Home Protect. I did speak to customer service as I had to just change a few things on my policy, which obviously effected the quote. But was allowed time to think & adjust then renewed online with Home Protect for a fair price. Good communication & easy website to use. Thank you

I have today spent over an hour on the phone with these guys going through my non-standard home insurance quote. I can't tell you what they're like when making a claim, but I can tell you that their customer service is excellent on the quotes-end! Spoke to two advisers who seemed intelligent and were very helpful. They were Najid and Harry. A note to any internal staff reading this - I don't know if I just got lucky with these two guys, or if they're representative of the customer support staff you have in general. If it's the former, promote them quickly or they'll leave for a better job!
