Its early days but it would seem a 10% pa return will be achievable. Also worth noting is and well presented online access to the portfolio.
My wife also had the pleasure to visit them. This was important to us being a foreign investor. Cult Wine and Jonathan have my full support and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
As has been mentioned elsewhere in reviews Jonathan, my advisor at Cult Wines, is enthusiastic to a fault and I feel that sometimes a more personalised approach would be useful, rather than a blanket offering of all the deals that Cult Wines have.
I think the team seem to work very efficiently, and a couple of small glitches I've encountered were sorted out smoothly. I very much like the ease with which I can view my portfolio online.
I'm likely to continue to invest with Cult Wines and will be very happy if they can begin to offer a more tailored service to me based on what they now know of my current investment.
I would certainly recommend them!
My advisor is Jonathan. He’s a typical sales guy, always pitching ideas, always hungry to get you a deal (& himself some commission). There are days when he’s too effervescent and I’m busy. Nevertheless, I find I have a knowledgeable, caring professional on whom I can rely. Having initially taken his recommendations with some success, we built an investment strategy together which is proving singularly successful.
I’ve also shipped wine to them from my other holdings and they’ve produced pretty good sales levels in a short time.
If you’re serious about wine, serious about wine investing and are willing to commit decent levels of funding, in my experience these guys will deliver an excellent result for you. Compared to putting my money in the bank, they are delivering 10%+ pa for me. I have recommended them a few times to others, so far all have been happy.
As my portfolio grew l became more anxious, so arranged to visit the bonded warehouse in tilbury dock, and was impressed with the levels of security, and was guided down aisles of fine wine to my selected cases, all coded amongst 150,000 cases.
I have been very happy with the advice and support of cult wines, especially my manager daniel. He realises that I enjoy information, so will often send extensive reports to justify buy recommendations. The detail of the reports are impressive, such as the micro climate between right and left banks of Bordeaux. We have good lines of communication, and talk regularly.
It is very easy to keep tabs on the portfolio, with online access. Each wine has a considerable amount of background info. I also enjoy the articles on the wine blog.
My portfolio has grown in excess of 10% pa, but has been helped by the stellar performance of a few.
Sales seem to happen smoothly, just have to wait a few weeks for account to be settled.
One reason I chose fine wine investment is that it is immune from capital gains tax.
I can unreservedly recommend cult wines, as my experience has been very positive.
Whilst the initial fee of 15% seems expensive, this covers purchase and sales, insurance and cellar fees. With good investment advice and a 5 year investment strategy, this can easily be recovered.
As my dad used to tell me "you get what you pay for".......
