10/10. I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages and was not disappointed. Great portion sizes, great wine, One of the mains wasn’t up to expectation and the staff could not have been more gracious and generous at dealing with it. Everything a local restaurant should be and more. Loved it. Only thing which would have made it even better was maybe some background music… but could actually hear my partner talk so can’t complain really!!

Lovely, simple, tasty food. We shared 2 starters and 2 mains and had a cocktail and wine. Good quality food at affordable prices.

I remember this place opening years ago when I was living in Deptford just as it became super gentrified and 'hip'. Brave owners I thought - this place doesn't belong here I thought.

Had a chance to visit Deptford again and went here for the £25 lunch menu (3course).

Fantastic value!

3 stars may seem low but it means "it's ok" after all. It definitely wasn't bad! I would give it 3.5 if there was a decimal due to value.

Nothing fantastic but acceptable 'good' food at value price.

Marcella is a lovely restaurant. V important too, offering a genuine, focused, excellent restaurant experience in this part of London.

The restaurant utilises space well, immediately inviting visitors to participate in its simple, appropriate yet lovely identity.

The food is wonderful, the open plan kitchen invites visual participation, the wine list impressive and 'right' for the space.

The service was OK, just seems quite transactional, and a little, little impersonal, which is a shame.

The 3 courses for £25 on a Sunday is fantastic value for money. This doesn't mean you get 3 small courses, we left feeling full and happy. The food is inventive and very tasty, a choice of two dishes for each course meant we could find something for everyone. It's a very relaxed vibe with great service. We'll definitely go back.

I found the concept of a seasonal menu really unique and exciting.

On my visit, I had a hispi cabbage with some sort of anchovy cream sauce as a starter. I liked it. I also tried some of my husband’s pork jowl with mustard starter which was also tasty.

For my main, I had brown butter and sage tagliatelle with hazelnuts. It was alright, but nothing outstanding. It was a bit basic and didn’t feel like the main event for me.

I liked the poppyseed cake with poached pear which I had for dessert. This was the highlight for me.

Overall, the food was good but I expected a bit more especially since the resto is always fully booked and in demand. Maybe I should try it again. After all, they never serve the same menu.

The concept of changing menu with the seasonal ingredients is the best part of Marcella.
Loved their bread and butter which they bring as a complimentary starter!
From the tastes you can say right away that they use high quality ingredients yet I believe the price of the mains are slightly high!
The pasta could be much better(the sauces and the texture of pasta) but it had an acceptable quality!

Marcella superseded all expectations. Walking into the restaurant, the understated, and dare I say slightly underwhelming interiors, lowered initial expectations. However a first read of the set menu offered a telling insight into the thought and delight of the food that was to come. Each dish delivered a firm punch of brilliant and bold flavour, but also a delicate balance, underpinned by a controlled and measured richness that too many restaurants fail to achieve. Each dish unlocked the imagination of the palate and the food was partnered with a wonderfully flavoured glass of wine. A triumph. Well done to Marcella.
