Nuova Italia Restaurant

The overall experience today was good. The restaurant was clean and tidy. It has a free car park outside for customers. It is a little dark inside however on some tables and we had to ask to move to another table due to it being too dark which hurt our eyes a little.
In terms of the service, the staff were polite but as evident from previous reviewers they appear to be from Albanian descent which we found that when asking questions to the host it was a simple yes or no answer. There was no engagement to establish a rapport as such and the team came across as rude sometimes. They also forgot our tap water and drinks order which we had to remind them.
The menu had plenty of choice and a reasonable price given the table for both this and drinks. I had to ask the manager to honour the Gourmet Society discount that I was told on the phone they did accept but not when I visited. They did sort it however. They also accept Tastecard here.

The best part of the visit was indeed the food quality. Large portion sizes and cooked very well with no issues at all today. The chicken was rich in flavour and very tender. The calamari was lightly battered and tasted and smelled great when it arrived. The chips were as you would expect; well salted and the right colour. We asked for sauces and found that the mayonnaise was out of date but this was rectified by the host.

Overall I would consider visiting again and give it a 7/10. Lovely food let down by the service from the team.

We went here a couple of days ago, our Waiter Giuseppe was outstanding with us and other customers around, he made the experience memorable for everyone! Polite, funny and attentive to our needs.

The food was amazing, fresh, tender and full of flavour!

We sat outside and it was warm, not too hot, no bugs, pleasant, didn't even notice any road noise!

Everything was perfect and it was busy Inc a huge Hen do inside.

All in all I'd have to give this restaurant a 10/10 and will definitely be returning.

We spent around £350 for 7 people, main meals, puddings and a whole lot of drinks/cocktails/coffees so I'd say good value!

Went here at the weekend for my niece's birthday. First time here and we couldn't have been more impressed. The team were amazing, so welcoming and funny, the food was delicious, we had a mix of dishes between the 8 of us and everyone really enjoyed what they had. Lovely little atmosphere, we sat outside in the sun and definitely didn't feel as though we were in Ilchester. Looking forward to going back

Found this gem on Google maps when searching for an en-route stop. Really warm reception on arrival and great attention from clearly very busy staff on a lively Friday night. The menu provides wide choices, and the food is delicious. Went down well with me, my wife, my daughter and two grandchildren and we all chose something different. It was a hot night and we ate outside very comfortably.
I’m now looking for another excuse to travel back that way just to eat there again! Thoroughly recommend trying it.

We love going here to eat. At this time of year you can sit on the terrace in the evening and enjoy delicious Italian food. Food intolerances catered for, as well as vegan cheese for your pizza, and several vegan and vegetarian options. Brilliant staff, very helpful and friendly.

Lovely meal had here. Good choice on the menu but decided to go with the meatballs for starters and gnocchi for main course. The only down I had was the size of the starter for the price. The meatballs were lovely but I felt overpriced. The gnocchi was cooked really well and had blue cheese in the sauce which wasn't overpowering. Was very busy for a Wednesday evening which added to the atmosphere. Well worth a second visit i think.

7 of us have just been here for a 2 course meal. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The food was visually beautiful and tasted delicious. We will return!

Quite disappointing really, the venue was freezing cold (like sitting in a skittle alley) which meant you're food went cold quickly and we had to keep our coats on whilst we ate. Pretty sure my food was frozen and then re-heated on order, I had lasagna, it was mushy and completely tasteless apart from an over kill of salt that had be added to it. Italian is usually my favorite food and have there for eaten at many different restaurants, unfortunately this was probably the worst I've tried giving it a 3 out of 10. Staff were lovely but prices were more expensive in the restaurant than advertised online. With the whole experience being pretty poor I don't think we're be returning. 🙇🏻‍♂️😕
