First time at this restaurant but definitely won’t be our last! Lovely atmosphere inside and the staff were brilliant. Went as a family of 4 and all our meals were delicious, the pizza was among the best I’ve ever tasted. Can’t wait to go back.

Four of us went to La Vela this evening for my sons birthday. Staff were really helpful and attentive. All food was cooked fresh and excellent quality, the Calzone was delicious. The best Italian I've had in a long time.

If I could give them minus I would.
They took the booking of my sisters hen do, and after we paid the bill of over £250 they then came to ask us to keep the noise down.
Why not ask before we paid and not wait until after?
Its a hen do and we was not as loud as we could of been.
There was 9 adults and a teenager.
Next time I would recommend not booking a hen do and if your customers are being loud please speak to them straight away and not after they have paid, as that has made you look even worse.
We are all humans and you may of had experience where people may of been loud and when you have approached them walked out without paying, but do not tarnish all people with the same brush.

You state the following "As one of our regular customers we did expect your understanding to be way different." Could you clarify please?
What difference does it make if I am a regular or a stranger?

Yes we was 5/10 minutes late, however we apologised the moment we all arrived and nothing was said by yourself or the staff regarding that.

You state "During our first hours, we don’t normally have too many customers in the restaurant so we didn’t mind the party having fun and laughing as many of the members are regulars in our restaurant." During the first hour we was waiting for our food, so yes we was having a laugh, as you state you didn't mind.

"However, as more customers began to come in, we also started getting concerns and complaints about the noise from our customers. Feeling under pressure as other customers were stating that they were going to leave, my colleague kindly asked the lovely bride in private to keep the noise down so that everyone can have an enjoyable night, however, this all took place before any sort of payment was taken, as there would be no reason to let you know about the situation after paying."
If you had said to us the moment you had your first complaint about the noise we would of understood and would have certainly been even more cautious and considerate. (Yes sometimes a crowd can be loud) however we was eating the most of the time your other customers were arriving, and the moment the bride was approached we then left, out of respect to your other customers.
You had every reason to wait until payment as no doubt you was worried by saying something before payment may of made you assume payment or a kick off may have happened- (again my opinion and how the way it was handled made it look)
Payments had started to be made when you approached the bride to be.

My review and stating minus is about your customer service and to me that is what more important.
Yes your food was lovely and the place was clean but this is my review and my opinion

We had a family meal in this lovely restaurant and I can definitely say that it's the best restaurant in Somerset!

We went for a hen party 🥳 last evening thought everything was really good until we hear that the complained about the noise. When it was booked they knew it was a hen party
Food was ok no salad with lasagne.
If you book a party make sure you keep noise down

Booked a week in advance to attend restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday. Dinner was for 6 pm on a Tuesday. Restaurant wasn't busy and we were shown to a nice quiet table by the window. Seats are comfortable. I sat on padded bench and my partner took the freestanding chair.

We gave our drinks order and I asked for the toilet. Toilet was very clean and well stocked with toilet paper and soap.

Our drinks came and shortly afterwards, our starter and main order was taken. This didn't take long to come out.

I had the meatballs for starter and chicken risotto for mains.

Meatballs were amazing. The risotto was OK but I wouldn't order it again. My partner loved his chicken wing starter and La Festa pizza for main. I also thought the pizza was delicious.

There's a big carpark not far, but we were able to park on the same street as the restaurant. There is disabled parking directly in front of restaurant.

Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful.

I deducted one star because the risotto was just OK and even though I let them know it was my partner's birthday when I booked there was nothing special done. Not a problem but it would have meant an extra star.

You will enjoy this restaurant if you go.
