I have used this shop many times over the years and have always found staff to be friendly knowledgeable and attentive. Unfortunately today they didn't have the item i was looking for.

Great customer service, taking a ring to be repaired

Friendly staff, but overall not good communication. Made the experience a lot more confusing than it needed to be. Had a call to quote me a repair price, which I agreed to, then had a call a week later to say I hadn't contacted them in time and they had no record of me speaking to them and the repair had been sent back incomplete, even though i explained i had spoken to them 4 days prior and said I was happy with the quote?

Then when i arrived to collect the repair the quoted price had doubled. I was confused as I was quoted £25 not £44? The person on the phone obviously quoted me for one of the repairs and not both, so big miscommunication on their end which left me very surprised, but by then the repair had already been done so I had no choice to pay. Wouldnt use again due to them not really having a clue whats going on and leaving me surprised i had to pay double than i was quoted...little bit sneaky since i had no choice but to pay at that point

Shopped around a lot in Colchester to find who could give me a decent price for a split and slightly deformed ring. Simpkins were the only jewellers not to try and rip me off for a half shank replacement and made the ring good as new through soldering. Much faster than any other jeweller could fix the ring as well. Go here first.
