The problem is if you know what you want and are in a hurry they are very slow.
I had made an order online, and paid already, so just needed to show ID and pick up my watch. It took at least 20 minutes to do so. I couldn't understand the delay.
My fiancée and I went in to get my ring size checked as well as send my watch off for a repair. The staff were very friendly, extremely accommodating and we weren't rushed through at all. Christine acknowledged that we were very much exploring our options at this stage for our wedding bands so was very suggestive and made notes for us, far from trying to force a sale. My watch later came back from having being repaired with some damage to the face of the watch in which Goldsmith's investigated where the damage could of happened and dealt with further repairs free of charge.
Not the kind of service you would expect from a High profile retailer of Iconic watch brands. Disgusted! I am sure they are different when it comes to selling you a Breitling.
I have purchased, shall we say, a rather expensive Tag watch and the in store experience (Oxford Street) I received was very disappointing and poor.
I found the lady serving me quite impersonal and there were a few things that made the whole experience rather unpleasant.
She failed to fulfil the basic duties and demonstrated a lack of care, in my opinion.
I also had to ask the lady to set the correct date and time on my newly purchased watch. One would think this is something that a customer should not have to ask for? Just to clarify I was about to leave the shop and I don’t believe the lady was going to offer it at all.
The quantity of little errors made the overall experience very poor. If I was in H Samuel then maybe I would have expected such a service, but this was Goldsmiths and therefore my expectations were much higher.
My husband and I are (or shall I say were) regular customers but I’m afraid this rather unpleasant experience has negatively impacted how we now view Goldsmiths.
I have raised my concerns as an official complaint.
I was then contacted by the Oxford Street store manager (Stephen) who failed to contact me back at the proposed time. I chased him but again the same story - he just never called me back.
Very poor, just as the whole experience.
