I took my old Rolex there about a month ago as the crown had snapped off, it came back a couple of weeks later with a newly broken part of the metal strap (!) and the obviously wrong sized crown attached... I pointed this out and they sent it back to repair the strap- it came back another couple of weeks later correctly repaired, unfortunately the watch now doesn't work mechanically which wasn't an issue before. The manager insists I broke the strap and made out it was a goodwill gesture to repair it- despite the fact that this damage, nor the fact the watch was perfectly functional barring the crown when handed over to them was noted on the receipt by him- he tried to blame his assistant. For £260 paid I'd expected much better. Really unprofessional and incompetent- but above all dishonest. Judging by the other reviews here they've got a long list of angry customers. Extremely disappointed with this service - avoid whatever you do!

Recommend: repair service and wedding rings
My wife keeps getting her bracelet caught in things, causing the very fine links to break. It must have happened 10 times in the past 2 years because the links are ridiculously fine. Every time it comes back repaired by Gems of Broadway you wouldn't even notice the soldering, we were very impressed. We decided to get our engagement and wedding rings from these guys too and can safely say they are the nicest people to deal with, patient and understanding.

I visited this shop a few days ago as my watch needed a new battery. The staff were absolutely excellent, very friendly and professional. The lady struggled to open my watch as the screws are very tiny, however she asked another staff member who eventually managed to open it and replaced the battery. Result is that I now have a working watch and the price was very reasonable. I would certainly have no hesitation in returning to this shop.

Bought a silver ankle bracelet £32,tried it on when I got it home & links snapped. Took it back & asked for a refund , they refused & said they’ll solder it for me . The links are too fine & are all open links . I told Meeta( said she was manager )she is breaking the law by not refunding . She denied this. Customer service is very bad in here & will never shop here again so beware .Realise bracelet was over priced as seen similar one in F.Hi ds - clapham junction for £15... less than half their price. She gave lots of excuses why she can’t refund such as ‘ it’s not shiny anymore & I must have wore it ‘. I have reported them to trading standards & am taking them to small claims court ( I had to pay £50 for this today but gems of Broadway will be forced to refund it by the court & they will have to pay court costs). The trading standards will also take action against them .

I don’t know why the shop has bad reviews. I went in there yesterday and purchased a gold necklace which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff were very helpful and not rude at all I would definitely go back again

Nice jewelery until something goes wrong with it. Tbh I should've learned my lesson, everyone I know, who has bought something here, it breaks(including myself buying from here in the past and the bracelet braking)
A few days ago I bought some studs and a hoop- the hoop bent and cannot be used(spent £55 on it- I know, stupid- just wanted a bit of quality). I rang the store to explain and all they could say is bring it back and they can see if it can be fixed(with a charge), no refund, exchange or negotiations offered, or even an apology. Unfortunately I will never shop here again, the least I could do is leave a review. Bad quality jewellery that look nice in the beginning but won't last you very long...scams of Broadway.

I can't warn you enough to stay away from this shop.

As an aside, every time I was in the shop there were a customer complaining. the first time the customer was saying that the bracelet they had bought did not have a hall mark the second time someone was complaining that they had bend her bracelet.

My experience:

I brought in my father's Japanese Seiko clock to have the quartz mechanism replaced. I was quoted £38 for the works so I left the clock. I waited for a call for 1.5 weeks then called. They said the price has gone up to £45. I said my budget was £40 and that i will collect the clock unrepaired. They agreed.

When I came to collect the clock was in pieces and the hands had been bent in half. They said 'I do not have a choice' I must leave it with them. So I did and they promised to repair it for the price of the mechanism £15 due to the bad service and damage casued.

I waited another 1.5 weeks and called again they said the have not repaired it and to come get it. I collected it the hands were still completely bend and the glass on the front had been scratched.

Not what I wanted for a sentimental clock from my father.

I have know this jewellers for almost 31 years and I have never have any problems with them. I still have my first bracelet that I bought from them in 1990 and I even pass it on to my son who is 22 years old now. They even use to have a branch in Fulham.
