My wife keeps getting her bracelet caught in things, causing the very fine links to break. It must have happened 10 times in the past 2 years because the links are ridiculously fine. Every time it comes back repaired by Gems of Broadway you wouldn't even notice the soldering, we were very impressed. We decided to get our engagement and wedding rings from these guys too and can safely say they are the nicest people to deal with, patient and understanding.
A few days ago I bought some studs and a hoop- the hoop bent and cannot be used(spent £55 on it- I know, stupid- just wanted a bit of quality). I rang the store to explain and all they could say is bring it back and they can see if it can be fixed(with a charge), no refund, exchange or negotiations offered, or even an apology. Unfortunately I will never shop here again, the least I could do is leave a review. Bad quality jewellery that look nice in the beginning but won't last you very long...scams of Broadway.
As an aside, every time I was in the shop there were a customer complaining. the first time the customer was saying that the bracelet they had bought did not have a hall mark the second time someone was complaining that they had bend her bracelet.
My experience:
I brought in my father's Japanese Seiko clock to have the quartz mechanism replaced. I was quoted £38 for the works so I left the clock. I waited for a call for 1.5 weeks then called. They said the price has gone up to £45. I said my budget was £40 and that i will collect the clock unrepaired. They agreed.
When I came to collect the clock was in pieces and the hands had been bent in half. They said 'I do not have a choice' I must leave it with them. So I did and they promised to repair it for the price of the mechanism £15 due to the bad service and damage casued.
I waited another 1.5 weeks and called again they said the have not repaired it and to come get it. I collected it the hands were still completely bend and the glass on the front had been scratched.
Not what I wanted for a sentimental clock from my father.
