Let me provide great details as to why (this is part of an email I sent them and they refunded part of our last invoice, because of the extremely shoddy work):
The poor service and massive delays we have experienced with Puccini Kitchens has been utterly dissapointing.
- We did not receive the panels on time, and once they were finally cut and fitted, they weren't the right size, resulting in now what is a 2 month delay to fitting these appropriately. They were re-fitted twice and not the right size, so either your fitters don't know how to measure properly, or you gave them the wrong measurements, so I think that reflects poorly on Puccini Kitchens. Not only that, the panels have now come off and we had to request you to come back in 4 months post the project close to re-fit them, for the 5th time!
- Appliances were ordered months in advance, yet we ended up with a display oven (and not a new one) and with a different colour scheme for our cupboards because you did not have them (or the paint) in stock. Again, delays that were unnecessary given we had ordered the kitchen months in advance.
The fridge was missing the filter that was supplied by Fisher and Paykel, but the very incompetent kitchen fitters you provided had not fitted the filter, resulting in 3 weeks delays to our fridge's ice and water dispenser working. I can ask Fisher and Paykel to verify that is the case, because their technician literally told us that during his visit.
- There was no sealant put on the new sink so it started leaking. Fortunately, our builders knew what was wrong and fixed it for us. Basic kitchen fitting that you had no idea how ot do!
- Inspite of ordering the kitchen months in advance (as early as January), the appliances were delayed (see above), the panels weren't cut to size, we did not get the door handles we first chose, the door hinges weren't fitted over the initial fitting schedule of 3 days in July and the glass shelving for the cupboard wasn't also fitted the first week.
- There were meant to be plug points on the island, (as detailed in the architect's drawings) which also weren't fitted, and when we asked you, you said we would have to fit it into the kitchen floor, which is rather ridiculous and not an option with young children around. Plus, you never provided us with a more sensible option.
We expected to finish the project by end June, but Puccini's absolutely rubbish work delayed us to end July (and we are still having issues aka panels 4 months on), inspite of Puccini being the first company we contracted with and shared the project, knowing the supply chain delays with kitchen appliances and cabinetry. The only issue we've had with this project has been The Puccini kitchen design and services.
I would not recommend them AT ALL and would be very careful to spend any money with them at all.
They were brilliant from the start with us needing a kitchen layout and design at a very short notice. They managed to fit us in and provide a detailed plan and quote which was within our budget as well as helping us decide what we needed. This has been our first renovation with a completely new kitchen layout so we had no idea what we wanted at all. They were very accommodating and patient with us taking us through each decision making. The designs were brilliant, practical and fitted our needs as a young family with growing boys.
The installation team, headed by Darren were very professional, courteous and explained the process from start to finish, coming back a number of times to install various bits. They made the whole process seamless and as stress free as could be, communicating and keeping us informed all along the process.
We would have no hesitation to recommend to others (and have been doing since our experience).
Manager Andrew was all smiles until we signed the contract. After that he became cold, distant and was rude when we raised issues with him.
The experience of construction was a nightmare - there were delays and disputes over the design. Their installer was slow and bodged a number of things, such as the underside of the cabinets and the plinths.
The dishwasher broke down after two years and we paid hundreds for repairs. The cabinet doors look wonky and are cracking.
Five years after buying our kitchen and the horror stories keep on running. We’ve just found our fridge packed in and the repair man said the installer did not provide adequate ventilation for the compressor.
You have been warned.
