In terms of the kitchen design, we could not have asked for anything different. It looks amazing and makes a great statement in our new house. Every guest has commented on how wonderful our kitchen looks!
I can definitely recommend on using Cattleya Kitchens without any hesitation.
Brilliant team and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new kitchen and bathrooms.
The fitting however has been and continues to be a disaster.
The kitchen units were shipped from Germany assembled, several were crushed in transit so we had several weeks delay whilst replacements were arranged.
Kitchen was fitted, first issue was the extractor, Cattleya had gone with a flexi-pipe from this to a hole in the wall, unfortunately this was routed over a wall unit and under heating pipes leaving about 3cm2 of airspace, if we turned on the extractor it would blow the pipe off the unit. Fortunately we had the builders back for snagging so were able to cut a hole through the wall and install wide flat ducting to mostly remedy this.
Sink overflow for the inset sink was supplied with a reversible seal to suit either curved or flat surface, curved was used for our flat backed sink so we now have permanent water damage in the cabinet under the sink.
Trap from the sink was routed through a flexi pipe arrangement rising from the trap hence continuously blocking, dual outlet Fisher & Paykel added with Y and T adapters. Now have a F&P engineer booked to remedy the flood alerts. Have spent today cutting a new hole through the kitchen wall to accommodate a dedicated waste for the dishwasher and have replaced the rather interesting flexi-pipe and assorted adapters with a dedicated waste for the sink.
These people also run a bathroom business so have no excuse for not understanding plumbing or ventilation.
Throughout the installation process we just had a string of excuses.
Finally installed and with time to use we are discovering the many hidden shortcuts that were taken.
I really hope that we have now found them all but remain prepared to discover more.
Most problems can and have been rectified but I am gutted that only a year in the unit under our sink which should have a long life span is permanently damaged because a company who should know better cannot install a seal the right way around.
Throughout my dealings with Cattleya I have been left with an impression of an utter lack of honesty and competence.
Just continues to get worse.
In resolving the dishwasher drainage issues have come to realise that Cattleya used the dishwasher's power cable as a support for one of it's legs as it was not long enough to reach solid support on the floor and needed spacing.
A lump of tile would have done the job but they have opted for compressing a power cable instead.
Deliberately introducing fire risks would appear to be acceptable to them.
I am just gutted.
In the end we finally placed the the kitchen order with them and was told upfront how long it will take to arrive from Germany. The timing was very important for us. Also only because of their professionalism we also ended up ordering all our appliances which were Siemens IQ700 Studioline, Blanco Sinks, Quooker taps and a few other bits from them. I was to happy to pay a little more to them for appliances as I did not trust online companies fulfilling the order on time.
Kitchen was fitted in December and the whole family is so happy especially the wife. Happy wife is happy life.
We also ended up purchasing all our bathrooms items from their sister company Bathwise.
They are an all in one stop shop and that really made our life easier especially when we had such a huge project on our hands.
